rx18 full fire mod

for those of you upgrading to the RX18 board and installing the IR mod this is a helpfull mod you can do to eliminat the extra wiring into the turret to get the flesh and IR to fire
coutecy of Bill at RC Command he has provided space for it here is the link

Bubba,

This looks great, but can you help me wrap my mind around it! What wires are you eliminating? When you do the upgrade, does it not function the same as the factory tank why? Or is this reffering to the mod that gets the left stick and the K button to fire together?

Thanks

The Blitz

Interesting. Looks good, but desperately needs punctuation, capitalization, and a section break between the two methods. Hard to wrap your head around where the sentances and sections begin and end otherwise.

what this mod dose is removes the wires that are needed to engage the high tension flash as for the flash to work it requiers a signal from the recoil unit this removes the need for those wires and engages the cannon sound and fires the IR led as well the IR only fires when the recoil is attached this removes that need as well as the upward movment of the stick will egage the fire sound as well without it you can only get the IR led to fire using the K button on the remote . If upgreding to an rx18 board on a airsoft tank this allows the IR to fire when you fire the main gun

as to the other post this will not harm the board if soldered in correctly or you use the alternative method what you are doing with this mod is suppling the ground signal to triger the funtion of the K button and the ground signal normaly supplied by the recoil unit and you have 2 less wires going into the turret

yes what wires do you remove in the turret id like to install this in a old hl tiger .

thanks

RE: rx18 full fire mod

are you keeping the airsoft

bubbajoexx 12-17-2008 03:58 PM

RE: rx18 full fire mod

if you are keeping the airsoft you dont need to do anything besides the mod if installing the recoil then there are a few thing s to do

nope getting read of air soft want recoil and flash

then wait for 2 weeks a complete conversion is going to be avalable in a full kit form including the aluminum barrel

Hi

Is there any specific diode that needs to be used? I would like to try this but would need to know what to purchase in the way of a diode before I can do it.

Thanks

Thanks Bubba. Would the one in the link below be OK. They have a store just down the road from me.

Thanks Bubba. It is amazing what guys come up with to make this things better. Stuff like this plus the Old trick with the LED flash off the old boards, really enhances the tanks. Nice thing is they are realitively inexpensive, and I guy doesn`t mind doing some èxperimenting:D

RE: rx18 full fire mod

Hi Bubba

Quick question on this as I have only just got round to working on it. I have got the diode installed and all was well. I push up the stick and the tank recoils and the gun fire sound goes off. I then thought I would add a Tam recoil unit into the picture as per a previous post on the wiring diagram and it goes a bit wrong. The recoild does work and the gun sound goes off in unison. The problem is that the tank itself recoils three times and appears to be breakdancing :D. The Tam recoil is wired into the two smoke unit wires and also into the fire signal wire.

Have I done something wrong or is this a problem using this mod and a Tam recoil. I am waiting for an HL recoil unit from Bill at RCcommand but it is probably somewhere over the atlantic (or stuck in customs) at the moment but suspect it will behave in the same manner looking at how it works.

you need to replace the caps on the recoil motor there needs to be 2 caps one neg to ground and one pos to neg on the motor as well and every thing goes normal

gorehound 01-27-2009 05:37 AM

RE: rx18 full fire mod

Hi Bubba

Thanks for the reply. Are there any specific caps or can I just pinch some of al old motor I have lying around. I take it by caps you mean capacitors?

Hi

Still doing the fandango every time I push the stick up [:o]. I have a couple of the HL units on the way from Bill at RCcommand so I may just wait until they arrive to see if it is any better.

cheers

RE: rx18 full fire mod

did you install the caps as in the pic and do you have a diode on the triger wire on the recoil
