just a lil noob question..
ive noticed my metal tracks are getting losen....it was tight before but now its kinda loose...
and also the only upgrade i havt made is the idler.. still a plastic and it keep on loosing tracks... is it because its nt a metal one or do i need the tensioner?

It sounds like you need a tensioner. Can't recomend anyone since I don't know what armor you got ;)
Don't you worry, you'r loose track problem can be solved.

RE: tracks

Tracks loosen up as the wear in. On a Tiger, the greatest problem for thrown tracks is not the idler or the looseness themselves, it's the alignment of the wheels and idlers and the flaws in the design itself. These flaws are not the fault of the model tank maker, they just copied the real thing. Plenty of threads here on how to check and fix the alignment of your running gear.

You have the same set up as on my tiger I metal up grades with plastic idlers. Ive gotten my self into the hobby on holiday in Canada with out much tools and had to use what i had at the time .
I found removing a link helped only for so long Then the problems starts again....
keeped throwing tracks and plus stipping metal gears in the gearbox twice! (Kama for chasing the girlfreinds cats i guess :D) Then noticed cracking on the idler mounts to the body[X(]

What i found with the rear idlers was the brass sleeve in them had worked its way inside the idler only a few mills to give very bad sloppy alinement..

My fix was i pushed the brass sleeve out of the idler and gave them a good sand to rough the brass surface and glued them back in to the plastic with tenax-7r glue making sure it moulded the plastic around the brass in the plastic idler so it woundnt work its way back in to the idler again. Now the idlers are tight to the chasis and has done the trick for now! For me to get back to New Zealand to fit the metal idlers and beef up the rear end..[>:]

Not in the US, but the only place I've been able to find them is at Mato in Canada. He sells on eBay as well, and some say his service is better if you go that route.

Wow! Sorry, I just checked to see if the link worked and saw his shipping costs! More than the parts... [>:]

Maybe shoot Bill at RCCommand an email and see if he can get them... he carries the idlers from Impact for the Panzer III and maybe can get them for the Tiger
