servo pluged into Tamiya DMD

Can a servo thats been made into 360 degree turn be pluged into a Tamiya DMD I know you can plug it into the Rx and there is 3 wires white , red , black DMD only uses two wires so if you can witch one would you remove .

Short answer, no

Long answer, I think you have to rewire the servo and remove the control board in it and then connect the 2 wires off a DMD to the motor of the servo directly to get it to work. But do check if the servo motor is of a DC type, I know some servos have brushless motors (three wire type) and those you need the board to run them and thus cannot be connected to the DMDdirectly.

question are you trying to replace turret rotation or elevation with the servo?

if your doing elevation There are two other options
1. use a 6 channel radio and run the servo off of the RX
2. use a y connector to connect both the servo and the DMD to the RX then leave the DMD motor disconnected you will still get the sound effect but movement would be handled by the servo if your doing this for elevation its best to use a servo delay module so that when you let go of the stick so you can fire the main gun does not move much.

If your doing turret rotation then option 2 would work well.

hope that helps

Thanks Pershing.driver seen that on heat seen another post were the servo pc board was removed and a limiter resistor was used then hooked motor up to DMD wires but dont know what size resistor to use . I think bubbajoexx did this .

Ok got the servo setup as a gearhead motor am using a Futaba S3003  standard servo works at 4.8v to 6.0v now just need to get the battery 7.2v down to close to 6.0v to not over kill servo motor not shore what size resistor on each wire  should use would like to slow the motor down some so turret wont move to fast .
