Is this your first 1/16 RC tank? |
RE: HL TIGER WORK IN PROGRESS
hi Chris
got it from well know auction site on web, smoke and sound version, came with metal tracks and gears allready fitted for about £90, first tc tank, have built models for years on and off, also got a couple of 1940's military vehicles full size. its had so far, metal barrel extention engine mesh rubber zimmerit covering mid comanders hatch metal with machine gun metal tools metal wire ropes single headlamp metal got verlindan comander figure or tamia figure to go in when finnished, all accesories have come form same auction site bought a couple a month till i was ready to start (still want to add a few more to get list before its put back together) zimmerit is rubber set fits well and looks quite good just have to see how it paints, still might get hull smoke launchers, hull machine gun with led and a few more if i get around to them, looking at doing a mid version just need to decide what colour i want to finnish it and what markings to try, cheers Pete |

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt">Thank you for taking the time to share your photos and I’m hoping there are more to come. I love these project builds as they are great ‘how to’s’ for newer folks like myself. I think your battle damage looks very realistic and not overdone. I love the bullet hole stitching across the left rear. I think you have simulated bent sheet metal very well, especially on the rear exhaust shields. Very nice!</div>

RE: HL TIGER WORK IN PROGRESS
Dodge,
I'm starting research in painting my Tiger. Did you have to go back and repaint the black rubber on all of your roadwheels? Looks fantastic by the way ;) |
RE: HL TIGER WORK IN PROGRESS
Here is a trick for the rubber road wheels. SHARPIE marker does a bang up job. It also gives the tires that real rubber look. For even more detail, put some nicks and gouges in the rubber just like the real things had. To highlight the damaged rubber, use a dark gray to "fill in" the gouge, then dry brush a slightly lighter gray around the edges.

yea sprayed tank and wheels all assembled the repainted tyres when dry, not much of a hassle really cheers for the comments. figures are tamia plastic comander figure in black uniform, and other figure is a verlindan resin figure, |
RE: HL TIGER WORK IN PROGRESS
Don,
Never thought of that trick! And I thought it was only good for fixing gouges in furniture caused by five-year olds :) Blake |
