RE: Question about Pershing
The M-46 was almost purely a US tank and used only in Korea. A number, (I believe 200) were sold to Turkey who used them in Korea.
A few were sold to other countries for proposed sales, but at that time, The M-47 had been developed and the M-46, being a highly improved Pershing, was declared obsolete and dropped. Only a couple dozen were used in the states for training, being those built too late for shippment to the Korean War and retained by active army training units. The British used Centurian Mk IIIs in Korea, alongside the M-46. |
