Hi guys,
have decided to share with you the ides and preparations that have been done for the tournament. Therefore it may give some ideas to you and V.V. can bring a feedback to us. We prepared the indoor Terrain that will be easily transferable to Battle Field (still it is in the process of adding more details - such as trees and more houses. The terrain itself you could see on our videos): -) that includes a truck-bridge -) hill-bridge -) hill -) two tank shelters - ) two houses (three are being built) -) a mill Besides "tank beauty contest", there will be tank biathlon, tank battles, crosscountry tankrace (upping thehill, getting inside the shelter etc). Terrain itself is tranformable. For examp - hill itself transfers to the shhoting range while airsoft models are to shoot the targets. We will also use the light when a tank operatorstarts at tank biathlon race, as well as the tank battle starts when there is a green light is on. Here are som pics of what was spoken. 4th December will post the Tearrain-Battle Field off-to-go pics. |

Just preliminary...
We made it. It was really a lot of fun. Due to lack of time we have passed through 3 phases instead of five. 20 participants were registered, but 16-thparticipated. Not a bad "go-show" for the first time. About 20-23 tanks were displayed. So we led: 1. Tank Beauty Contest 2.Tank Biathlon 3. Tank Battles, split by by classes: Tamiya, PILOTAGE (that'swhat MATOand TRUMPETERdo for Pilotage Brand here)and MATO (purely). Here are some preliminary photos. http://photofile.ru/photo/redline2/3...e/87545561.jpg http://photofile.ru/photo/redline2/3...e/87545565.jpg http://photofile.ru/photo/redline2/3...e/87545594.jpg http://photofile.ru/photo/redline2/3...e/87545572.jpg More photos and video will be later. Stay tuned. |

Looks grand, Hal! VCO and I will be at Kubinka in summer for sure! And how are my fat old fingers supposed to build models to the skill in the photos?? I guess I will just have to bring a surprise or two for you at Kubinka. Border Control will be interesting. I don't worry about Russian Border Control, it's Ukraine I worry about, both leaving and returning.

RE: RE:
I always knew the obstacle course/tank Olympics would take off. Too bad my old tank club didn't think the same when I brought it up 3 or 4 years ago. :)
A little skilled competition testing your driving and shooting skills plus racing against the clock is the perfect little break from IR battling. :D - Jeff |
RE: RE:
Thanks Guys,
we do it very simple: we count Q in total. Let say we have three different parts of tournament 1) Beauty Contest. Here we invite very wellknown modellers-painters in diorama or static modelling as Judges. They have their own system of counting. 2) In Tank Battles we do not use Olympic system we have handicap or round system as we call, where everybody must fight with each other 3) Tank Biathlon we USE Q-formula. Q=tragets done/ time Then we sum up all the results. Of course we split the contests into Classes. |

Can you please stop! All this eye candy is making me want to go to Russia for my next holiday to play with tanks.
Actually, this is really nice. In fact, the best presentation of our hobby at a convention/trade show that I've ever seen. The obstacle course appeals to me on an aesthetic level, as well as to the kid in me. When I see this course, it looks very user/newbie friendly. I can't help but to want to drive a tank on it, and it looks so....do-able. Your creativity and hard work are apparent. Nice job! |
RE: RE:
Jeff, thanks!!! for this...
Just sharing, THIS resource is realy unique and the people here share the ideas openly, so do we... we do not hide what we create and share as ALL of you, guys, do so with us. Thanks again... and of course welcome to Russia... more videos will come, we have 3 hours done tape. :) |
RE: RE:
So come visit us in Krim next summer, and we'll take a week to go to Kubinka for the meet! We got lots of room, and you don't need a visa to come here for a visit. Got to get a Russian visa, however, to get to Moskau. Hall has agreed to support any of us foreigners who want to go as regards the Russian visa.
Oh yeah, and bring your walking shoes and your heart meds. |

RE: RE:
When is the next big tournament at Kubinka you've mentioned?
|
RE: RE:
We plan June 12th, 2010.
In a couple of weeks we go and check with the authorities, then we will advise re visa support. We will support the foreign modellers-tournament participants (there will be one or two travel agents - trusted ones - officially appointed fro visa issues) but we will advise re procedure. |
