Recently Jagdpanther received
We received MATO Jagdpanther.
It is very beautiful model, nicely done. Frankly speaking it was late midnight and my house was all asleep when I opened the package. I was amazed by the size of this "cat" and precision of the model done. Pricewise it is good (IMHO - for those tank-fans that are not able to afford to buy Tamiya). RX-18 works very good, the model moves accurately. Remote control sticks are very soft and sensitive - so you have to be be very attentive while operating. The only question is the recoil power. I assumeit is to strong. Here is a short video test http://www.youtube.com/user/TANKzoneRUSSIA Appologies for the mistake in the titles IT IS JAGDPANTHER not Panther. |
RE: Recently Jagdpanther received
Hal,
My jag also had a strong recoil on it ( not as strong as your though). I had to do the suspension spring mod as the drive wheels were almost in-line with the roadwheels. Not only did it lift my cats chin up, but also calmed the recoil down. Your jag looks good, did it come with the camo? I ordered the metal upgrade with mine and think it would have climbed that grade your was slipping on ( or flattened it, with the metal gears, drivers, idelers and tracks, it weighs a ton) Have fun. hi congrates for being a proud owner of this beautiful cat. :D
I saw your video. The recoil is definately too strong, but I think the problem also has to do with the jagdpanther's supension being too soft. Therefore, once it recoil the whole chassis will rock to and fro. When mine first came, the front suspension was so weak that when I pressed the front chassis down, it couldn't recover at all. If yours have the same problem, you can either get stronger springs or modify the spring hole postions. |
RE: Recently Jagdpanther received
I've got the same problem with my Jagdpanther. I agree a stiffer suspension should absorb the recoil much better than the stock suspesnion. This Cat is a beauty and one of my most favorite Tanks.

RE: Recently Jagdpanther received
All,
The suspension spring mod is really simple. I was going to order stiffer springs but thought what the heck. Drilling new holes 1/3 behind the original hole sounded to easy and if I messed up I could get the stiffer springs and use the original untouched holes. It was easy and made a whole world of difference in how my cat looks and runs as well as damping down the recoil. Hope all goes well and I also agree, my Jag is quickly becomming my favorite tank or TD for that matter. Jim |
