Is there a method
Hey Happy New year.
Have a question is there a method for loosening plastic glue. I want to separate a barrel and mantlet for my HL Pershing. Cheers John Please Don't Drink and Drive. HL Pzr lll, lV, Stug. lll, Tiger l, Panther, Jagdpanther, Pershing, Tam. E8 Sherman and Matorro King Tiger. |

Well, there aren't many options. Since it isn't styrene try placing the glued item in the freezer and let it get cold for several hours, then try to force the parts apart.
Like I said, that's the only one I know of. - Jeff |

Jaws01,
You may want to check your hobby shop, I seem to recall some model railroaders using something that softened the glue when they did some kit bashing. If you do find what it was, please share with us. Jim |
RE: Is there a method
If its glued by superglue, try a superglue debonder.

RE: Is there a method
I've used WD-40 and a debonder ([link=http://www.modelexpo-online.com/product.asp?ITEMNO=PT-16]like this[/link]) with some success. Be careful, though, it also softens the plastic which can distort it or crack it.
