JSU-152 Conversion

Does anyone know who is supposed to produce this conversion? I tried to order one through Phil a couple of months ago, but he hasn't been able to get any info about it since then.

Then, to compound my being "stuck" on this project, I ordered the Asiatam late KV-1 metal chassis for it, and now I have to set it aside until I can get the conversion JSU kit. The chassis came in the mail today, and it really is a beautiful piece of workmanship. The roadwheels and return rollers are 'spoked' (and also made of metal), but the drive sprocket and it's center hub look just the same as the Tamiya and Impact ones - I am under the impression that it has a raised, pointed hub and different-sheped teeth.

I also made the mistake of buying it from an Ebay seller who inflates his prices and shipping costs to about twice what Welsh Dragon charges. I've learned my lesson - from now on, if Phil at RC Tank Wras doesn't stock something, then I'll go to Steve at Welsh Dragon.

Elmod has this listed on their website. Look under models. It is a resin conversion made specifically for what you have. Hope this helps. Regards, J Z

sassgrunt, be careful with the plastic sides on the Asiatam hull. It's prone to cracking from overtightened screws and I just noticed a crack where the idler is. Not to pleased about this, but it's not noticable and has not affected performance in any way. Also, the idlers take some getting use to and can be completely unscrewed without you noticing until the tracks are really loose after you hit something with the idler wheels.

I paid $250 + $14 shipping for mine from RCCommand.

Wasn't the JSU-152 ( ISU-152) based on the JS-2 ( IS-2) not the KV-1? Would not the spg version of the KV-1 be the SU-152?
I know the ISU-152 and SU-152 used the same main gun so that aspect is the same.

I'm not that familiar with the differences , running gear -wise between the KV-1 and JS-2, perhaps they are similar enough not to matter.

aft decks are different, rear hubs are different, IS hull had more volume (holds more ammo), probably some minor shape differences in the fighting compartment. Yes the kit is a "SU-152"

Yes, like was said above, The Elmod conversion is an SU-152. There are vast differences between the SU-152 and ISU-152, mostly due to the different base tanks used the KV-1S versus the IS-2. Hull, road wheels, idlers and sprockets are all different. Mantlet is not the same etc. etc. They really are quite different beasts even though from casual observation they may seem similar.

Thank you all for the responses and comments. I'll see if I can get the kit through Elmod. Seems like it will be a neat change from the KV-1 and KV-2 kits already out. -Mike
