Panther II Prototype
1 Attachment(s)
With everyone getting their new Panther Gs, I thought I'd post these pictures of the Panther II Prototype that [for the time being] is at the Patton Museum in Kentucky in case anyone is considering modifying theirs. Not the best, but they had it backed up to a wall.

RE: Panther II Prototype
Some guy from another forum had his Panther II shown here. :D Actually, I think the paper panzer E-50 is a little more fun to look at and build than another tank that looks like a Panther.

RE: Panther II Prototype
You realize though, that's not a Panther II "schmallturm" on that chassis.

RE: Panther II Prototype
Yes. Did I read that there were no complete Panther II's ever assembled with the Panther II turret?

RE: Panther II Prototype
Only existing Schmallturm is at Bovington. It was inedvertantly dragged downrange as a target. By the time someone had informed them if its importance, it was all shot up. It was sitting behind the museum when I was visiting there. The turrets were never married up with the chassis outside of a couple prototypes, which were being built at separate areas. The US captured the chassis and the Brits got the turrets. Good for us,,that Panther II would have been a mean cat to confront.
