Truthfully, this KT will be a great addition. If it contains the new RX-18 ( which it will) and if it has zimm. All around Heng Long will most likely release a British Cromwell after their sherman at the end of the year. Maybe if we are lucky, we can get a Churchill out of Heng Long.[:-]

That would be  a step in the right direction, rather than just rehashing the same thing everyone else releases.

Yeah, but I dont mind the KT as I'm a KT lover :P. Though I'd love to see British Armor popping up around here.

My, what timing! I was just going to post asking if anyone had an idea of when this new King Tiger would be released. I presume the answer would be anyone's guess. I just wish the release of a new product, regardless of from who, was a whole lot closer to the speculation of that release. sigh.

Aww crap! Does it really take that long for them to mold and install electronics in a tank and get it working!?!?!?

I'm aaauming 2011. How wonderful. Then how is the sherman gonna be out by December if they do the King Tiger 1st?

RE: KingTiger?

Yeah, I can't see the KT coming out anytime soon. There's so much to be done even after the master is fully finished and it appears they're still working on it. After that, there's the lengthy period of "Testing" it, manufacturing it, "training" if you will for assembly, creating suitable packaging and graphics, instructions, accruingenough stock worthy of shipping, blah, blah, blah. It's going to be a hot minute before we see it. As Rivet said, don't expect it this year! lol

As for the Sherman, I believe it when I see it directly from the source.<br type="_moz" />

Awesome, another King Tiger.
Now we have 3 companies making them. Hopefully Hooben and others will release one as well. I am convinced none of these companies have a marketing department and if they do, their VP of marketing is out to lunch with the guys that do the English translation of the manuals. They don't really need a marketing dept, all they have to do is spend one night reading this forum. Maybe a post here asking what we want. That would be free and effective for them, hell, we'll do their marketing research.
Not the master of History here but wasn't Britain in the war? They had tanks, right? They didn't stop making tanks in '45 did they? There were tank models released after then, right?

I could care less about a model of the Elefant as well. Who would want a model of one of the worst designed/performing tanks of all time? It's like car guys wanting an RC version of a Pinto, although Pinto's didn't burn as easily as an Elefant

LMAO!!!<div></div><div>I myself can't help but to wonder if most of the common tanks that are repetitively built are based on easy legwork. If plans, diagrams, real life counterpart tanks were readily available they would be more apt to making tanks outside the norm.....or maybe most companies such as Tamiya (mainly) decided to run with their highest sold static kits in 1/35 and when deciding to make 1/16 RC tanks, that's what they based it on. (Seems to me they're limiting themselves or slowing the process greatly by requiring digitally recorded sounds of real tanks) I really don't know what coursemanufacturesthey take, but it doesn't make sense.</div>

While true, I think if it was used more as a tank destroyer as opposed to being up in the front lines and given some self defense ie: machine guns ( most were knocked out by special tank killing squads of infantrymen), they wouldn't have been the proverbial "sitting duck " just my 2 cents for what's it worth.

well lets take a minute here what was one of Tamiya's the first tanks in 1/16?....the "King Tiger" and thats been out for like 30 years.....granted it would be nice to have a newer/cheaper version perhaps even with the Porsche turret but this is STILL the same old re-hash of the same old models.......would much rather see some British or Japanese armor..and yes the Elefant just because how bad-ass it looked(irreguardless of it's record)...to be honest the Sherman was a POS compared to the German armor, they just built tons of them...but that didnt stop em from making 1/16 versions of it....of course the one tank I would like a re-hash of the Kv-2 Heng Long doesn't appear to have any interest in and that would be easy to produce as they already have the KV-1...but that's my luck...

Seems to me it's pretty obvious what's going on-currently Tamiya don't do any 1/16 RC WW2 British armour. As soon as they do you can guarantee HL and everyone else will be right on it. If they have nothing to copy...

Yeah, I could see that happening. But I think HL came out with the PIV first and Tamiya doesn't even have a PIII at the moment. I think HL is trying to make effort tointroducedissimilartanks beyond purposely eff'n up the accuracy of the model. Maybe not as fast as we like, but it'll happen. They seem to be making a name for themselves, let's see how they intend to grow it in a positive direction. I can't really complain about how often tanks are remade until I get all of them, but I surely can complain that there's no friggin Churchill in the mix!

A Churchill would be fantastic-especially the Mk VII with the 75mm. I'm not holding my breath.

I don't understand what's taking so long for HL to release anything this year. What happened to the kits they were displaying at the toyfair? RcCommand seemed pretty certain three new tanks would be released this year starting after Chinese New Years and that was months ago. I just want something new, or for them to start installing IR systems in the older models so I can buy them. After converting the PIII to IR, I won't be doing it again.

RE: KingTiger?

Yes, it has been very quiet on the new release front. I have heard a very strong rumor about a Heng Long Sherman.

Also have heard about some no plastic all metal tubs coming, and someone is working on an all metal 1/16 tiger. Could be 18 months before these see the late of day at a retail level thought, as it does take time to put everything together.

Personally I haven't ever heard a rumor about any British armor. Lots of wishful thinking though!!!!!!!!!
