RE: how to beat up a Pershing
Very Wicked!
What a system! As a matter of fact a bit scary....love it! Don |
RE: how to beat up a Pershing
that's what the frik I'm talking about!!....screw this infared laser tag BS everybody is doing..I want my tank to actually SHOOT something.... and HARD lol! Id be more into tank wars if they ran the 6mm paintballs like this..be a lot tougher to get hits and a lot funner...plus you wouldn't have to spend a ton of loot getting a "tamiya compatible" set-up just to play with most guys....
p.s. I love how you can see the little "puff" of paint on impact from a distance....looks so real....very cool! |
RE: how to beat up a Pershing
I'll take 3 to go, please!

Great job!!! |

Could you imagine a 10 vs 10 battle? Everyone would need to be behind a riot shields! :)
New tactic - have one or two tanks lay down "suppressing" fire on the Tank Operators while you team mates maneuver into position for the Kill Shot. |

I'm pretty intrigued with this gas powered pellet gun, it'sdefinitelyno longer airsoft and not sure why C.D. keepsreferringit as such. Yourdefinitelyright though, the larger the battle group the more likely extra, extrapercussionwould be needed not to forget a bag full of olive branch offerings. Too much going on and too many people in the surroundings. Still, would be awesome to attend such an event and thank goodness for low cost HL tanks...I can't imagine tamiya tanks converted and participating in such events. <br type="_moz" /> |
RE: how to beat up a Pershing
its still airsoft just at a higher velocity. a pellet gun fires pellets like a daisy bb gun. i have scrimmaged with airsoft guns and its not a big deal.i have a greengas berrata 92, I took alot of hits and it doesnt hurt unless your pretty close to the barrel. i'm pretty excited about paintball wars. i think all we would need is safety glasses or even shades.in the video the airsoft rounds fly pretty low to the ground so maybe just standing behind a scale building would be enough protection. ialso have to say the effect of the mist when the paintball smacks is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I mean really screw ir, this is the route i am going. just showed the video to my buds and we are going to forming up some teams. my friend came up with a great idea, since a hit on a tank in a specific spot shows up it would be cool to get some diagrams if it would be a fatal hit or not. kind of like a point system. just a thought but its a neat way to battle. i'm sure we couldnt go to a mall and set up a battlefield but heck, if we did this on a paintball field or such we would have one hell of a turnout. i cant make it through an ir battle video without getting bored, the paintbll vid i watched 6 times and once in slow mo so i could see the impacts. i also like the idea of having a tank that can just fire airsoft for backyard plinking.
I emailed cd and it sounds like they are taking pre orders some time this week. yes!!!!!!! |
RE: how to beat up a Pershing
I really think this is a cool idea and would definitely be a great new way for tank battles. One issue tho'.......not to be negative and maybe I just couldn't see it on my screen but, was there a view where we actually see (from the tank perspective) the tank fire the ball and it actually strike the target tank? I saw the frame of the tank barrel recoil (firing the bb I assume) and a paint ball hitting the target tank in another frame, I just don't beleive I see (again, in the frames of the firing tank perspective of the target) any sign of the paintball hitting the target tank. The other vids of the tank firing at cans, etc. really showed the bb leaving the tank and hitting the target in one view. I really would like to get one of these for my KT since they "appear" to work.....just want to be sure before handing over the dough. Check twice and pay once I believe is the motto here. Can we have another vid showing this actual perspective?

RE: how to beat up a Pershing
:Di can see a red paintball streaking out of the barrel at about 55 seconds in the video. I'm using an ipad (if you can get one they are awesome). it hits the sunlight about 5 feet past the barrel. i can see the trajectory and path almost all the way to the Pershing. lol thats the scene I was watching in slo-mo. i can make out glints of it tracking all the way to the impact. "want to watch paintballs impact? theres an app for that." :D

RE: how to beat up a Pershing
I'm not going gaga over this yet but I am interested. As far as preordering, have we learned nothing from Hooben, and the previous CD gun release. Not hating, just cautious.
I have questions as to the fps this system will provide and the interval between recharges, etc. I guess the proof will be in the pudding. If this doesn't come to fruition I will stick with my homemade CO2 powered gun systems with coaxial laser sights that I have been running for the past 3 years. I invite the more ambitious of you to find that dusty old thread and build your own as well. It's all in there. If they do bring these to market I would probably buy a couple. I never did figure out a way to incorporate recoil so that would be a cool adition. So lets hear the real news CD......When and how much? Don't really care about highly edited marketing videos. Just want to buy one. Perry |
RE: how to beat up a Pershing
You know when I started looking on this forum thats what I thought this hobby was about, Then as I started learning more about this hobby there was this IR tamiya compatible system that of course cost alot of money. I thought that is kinda stupid, I thought you actually shoot something. Then I saw HL that have both IR and airsoft that actually shoots something. And then this video comes along......neat-o-keen or what, that is the way to go.You shoot pellets that explode on impact I agree 100%.So ifyou get a little damage then you repair it. This Tamiya system as cool as it is you spend what upwards of $1000.00, well you can get at least 5 HL's for that amount and just as much fun.Don't the ship guys do this

RE: how to beat up a Pershing
trust me 6mm paintballs wont screw up a tank. I took hits from a sniper springer airsoft(springfield 03) at 430fps shooting paintballs. all i had on was a light hoodie. at 20 feet it will sting a little and burst but it wont cause catastrophic damage. on the other hand if you are shooting standard airsoft bbs like the .20 grams or the .12 gram standard solid airsoft rounds those will hurt like a b@@ch. 300 to 400 fps is pretty much a standard for high end airsofts. airsoft bullets bleed energy really fast and getting zapped enough times during scrimmages i really dont see 350fps as a threat. if we used standard airsoft and not paintballs there would be plastic carnage everywhere.....hmmmm
lol can you imagine kicking tamiya tanks off the battle field because its henlong airsoft paintball only! that really cracks me up, not saying tamiya people are snobby or anything but it sure would be a funny thing to witness.lol now we have a tbu, hbu, and pbu thats paintball unit to you tamiya people. hehehe:) |

RE: how to beat up a Pershing
Yes I understand the great quality of all Tamiya products. I have never owned Tamiya RC's but they really are pricey and one day I just might scratch enough money togetherto purchase one, but withlittle money left out of the house hold buget I will have to live with one of the HL's. I certainly would not be over zealous in using a Tamiya tank if Iwas to use the airsoft system.I would ratheruse an HLfor that. From whatI have seen the replacement partsat my local hobby shop are hugh pricey, one can purchase a HL for the same cost. Did you realize that just a kit alone is over $800.00. So it looks like the toy for me........for now

Just my thought on the matter you have to own a tamiya tank to truely understand what i am trying to say here. you've got to be frikn kidding me!...man you are what we call a "Tamiya Elitest"..let me tell you something Ive been into just about every rc hobby there is over the last 30 years, and enjoyed them all. I have even owned a couple of Tamiya tanks over the years(because I liked them not because they were "Tamiya"), and I can tell you with a certainty that although Tamiya are quality kits that provide some higher quality parts, they are not "light years" ahead if Heng Long(HL were rough at first but they are gaining ground QUICK) and I have just as much enjoyment out of my little "toys-r-us" Heng Longs as I ever did with my Tamiyas! And also having owned the pinnacle of rc tanks which is 1/6 scale those make Tamiyas look like toys-R-us toys...we use to laugh at the guys with their little 1/16 Tamiyas thinking they were the big boys on the block (but youd have to own a 1/6 to truley understand what I am trying to say here) . You obviously never owned a heng long because you seem to have no clue what you are talking about...or your just talking out your a$#! Im sorry to rant, but I put a lot of time and effort into my HL's and I take massive offense when somebody talks smack like this about them then praises "Tamiya" as the be-all end-all of rc tanks..........all I can say is "Shut-the-f%$k up!"...all your gonna do is piss everybody off....it all comes down to the builder if the build/paint are right it will be a nice tank period...I've seen plenty of shi**y tamiya's I can tell you that and just as many kick-butt HL's and vice-versa...enough said...here's a pic of my latest build (I doubt you'd see something like this at toys-r-us).... |

I in my post i am compairing RC's to rc how they work and sound and that's the best way i know to explain the differance between the two brands of tanks. And second you know nothen obvously and i been into RC 30 years and had hundreds or al types of RC's and other hobbies like slot cars also. IKNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! IF anyone tells me that they have the same FUN riding a heng long than a tamiya that person don't know nothing!! and every tank guy i ever let run my tamiya that owned a heng long as soon as they drove it they always say man now i know why all the guy's always say the tamiyas are so nice because they can't believe the sound the tank is making for all movements and actions it blows there minds when they drive a tamiya for the first time. The sound alone makes riding a tamiya much more fun and the better drivability your kidding yourself if you think other wise are you serious? Another thing I don't only like tamiya as i have all sorts of tanks as posted in my first reply marui, FOV, matto, heng long, VS, and tamiya. |
