OMG!

Put down the airbrushes guys! You are about to be amazed and befuddled. The possibilities in this short video are almost to much for the mind of a model tank builder.

I almost bet someone out there will just about go nuts and want to build one tank on here in particular. Never heard of it never seen it, don't know if it was worth a darn, but it has to bethe coolest tank I have seen. See if you can guess which one.

Here it is!

I think that's called Object 279. There are a couple of Youtube videos about it. I always thought it looked pretty cool, too. -Mike

It was designed to withstand the shock wave from a nuclear blast but was cancelled as they didn't want to be seen as provoking the west.

Now the tank may be able to withstand the shockwave but I'm not sure abut the crew also I don't know how the tank would stand up to the the debris that tend to come with a nuclear explsion. The remains of a towerblock hitting it at a couple of 100mph will do more then scratch the paintwork.

RE: OMG!

Yeah, Object 279 using anti-gravity drive technology stolen from Area 51 by Soviet spies. It has tracks just to trick people into thinking it is a tank, in reality it really hovers and flys for intergalactic, cosmic battling. It was first test flown by Russian Cosmonauts in 1959.
