Well here is my first model of some modern armor. I tried to simulate the thermal blankets and of course the close defense armour of the Canadian Leo's in service in Afganistan

THis was the Trumpter is I/35 RC Leo.

That's a pretty nice job! I was reading up about them in wiki today. Is that the anti-rpg lattice on sides?

The Leopard is one Bad ass tank. Prettier than the Abrams but hasn't got the battle scars yet.

Ya well after seeing MR. VOLSPEEDS stuf why bother.......just kidding. ILIKEIT. I think I might explore that look for my 1/35 scale WSN LEO Thanks that may be helpful.

Dan, I had an idea for making the barracuda netting. Basically they're wavy strips of whatever material. You could use those wavy scissors to cut the strips and then overlap them on another sheet or something....still trying to work that out and I don't know if it'll work for this scale, but it'll work for 1/16!

I just bought a 1/16 HE Leopard. So once I get the mechanics worked out so it runs well, then I will then do a 1/16 version of this same tank. I should be able to do a better job of the slat armor on the 1/16 tank.

Nice! Look forward to seeing what you can do with it! Can't wait to get my stuff together so I can start on my Leo. Still waiting on some parts from ETO so I can wrap up my Pershing....

Here is some video of the tank in action. I got metal tracks for it and am pinning them one painful link at a time. 14 links took me 1.5 hours. Ouch is this going to be painful

Whoah, your's must be taking karate class!!! Mine doesn't kick back that hard!

The metal track pinning doesn't sound fun at all! If you end up with any left over and want to part with a few, I'd be more than glad to talk business! I have some metal I need to put to use!lol
Look forward to seeing the arrival of you HE Leopard too. I haven't ordered one just yet. Waiting till you get yours so please do let me know if that's a boo mission!

RE: Canadian Leopard

The extra 1.5 volts might be the reason for the extra kickback

they do look bad ass them Canadian Leopards. the cage standoff armor looks simple enough to make. It's that funky camo net pattern i havent been able to figure out how too cut yet.

Yes I am inspired to make an attempt to emulate your model. As you may have noticed that I have also responded on your other threads. So yes that is the plan.
