What's it worth to you?

What would you consider to be a decent price on a Tamiya Leopard 2A6 that has been built, painted, and semi-upgraded? :D

Be brutally honest! :)

It really depends on who does the work.

RE: What's it worth to you?

The Tamiya list price is $1726.00

I couldn't even think in that bracket if that was reduced 50%!

My first 7 automobiles didn't add up to that price!

Yesterday, I did see one at our Kellys Heroes battle day..........I was stunned at how complicated it was and the programming that can be done to it. Just beautiful. $1000 seems like a bargain. But anything over $200 scares the heck outa me.

RE: What's it worth to you?

Yeah, I agree with Jeff. Totally depends on who built it, how they built it.....and since it has beencustomized, how it was constructed. Wouldn't want parts falling off a tank because they usedElmer'sglue.:)

But no matter who built it, I would factor in labor and artistry. Don't be swayed by this "took me 100 hours to build" hoopla.

For me, I wouldn't pay more than $1500 on it, even if PabloPicassodid it himself.<br type="_moz" />

Elmer's Glue! [sm=lol.gif]

Heck, even modeler's glue in some places. Like it goes 5 feet and the support rollers get chewed up in the sprockets...

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial; ">The leo isdefinitelyabeautifulkit. I stare at it a lot, like a woman would gaze at a diamond on a finger. The wife thinks I'm loony because I pull it out of the box daily just to look at the parts.....I think it's normal, but hey.....what's normal these days?</span><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px; "><div></div><div>Seriously, what are the upgrades on this built tank? Put aside that it's already been build for you, what would be the cost for all the upgrades added to the tank if purchased on your own? Tally that up, add the cost of the tank, add maybe $100-$200 for labor, then subtract for usage and age if the seller actually tells you how long it's been owned. If it's beencustomizedpainted and it looksprofessionallydone....then I'd add for artistry.</div><div></div><div>But, as I said. I wouldn't pay more than 1500 for it, and that's for a tank purposely bought with the intention to sell it. If it's been used,.....yeah, that's the sellers loss, not supposed to be a gain.</div></div>

RE: What's it worth to you?

Well on hobby items there is no "Blue book"..........Is there ????

If it is new you can shop around and compair prices and see what they are selling for.

If you are buying the big question is " Whats it worth to you".

If you are selling the big question is whats it worth to someone else and what are they willing to pay.;)

What it is worth to one person may be like night and day to another. You posted a pretty tough question to answer i think.;)

I like the statement about the automobiles above.....My first new vehicle was a 1968 Ford F-100 P.U. truck and cost $2,285.00 dollars and I drove it for 37 years and sold it to my nephew for $500.00 dollars and it is still being driven today as i write this. And it is still a good looking truck. It had around 386,000 miles on it when i sold it.;)

A plastic tank????? Well you will have to answer that. ;);)

LOL.............Well times do change don't they.I could have mentioned I was working on the railroad at that time as a laborer in the diesel shop for $2.63 an hour and my average take hom pay was 164 to 168 dollars every two weeks .(paid twice a month)

But I might add there are still a heck of a lot of people in this country who are working for $10.00 dollars or less per hour.Mabe not on this forum, but in real life they are.
