Does anyone know if the rubber road wheel rings for the tamiya fit on the HE wheels?
|
RE: YHR Hobby Engine Leopard conversion(now with video)
Yes they fit and I have them installed on this Leopard. IF you reverse the inside rims and sand the width down slightly the Tamiya rubber fits like a glove.

Dan your LEO is by far the best job of an HE tank out there. Aside of the full AFV job Phil did for that customer that stiffed him on it once it was complete, but that was an Abrams. how much was your total cost for the el-mod set up if you don't mind me asking. I have to get it into 2011's budget for the winter. I will get er done.

RE: YHR Hobby Engine Leopard conversion(now with video)
Yes you need too know the part number for them. look for amanualfor the LEO, it will tell you what "Sprue" they are.

The road wheel rubber is cheap
6255005 Road Wheel Rubber $10.13 The EL MOD set up will set you back about 230 Euros, but it is transferrable. I pulled this out of my Tiger, installed it into the Leo , downloaded the LEO sounds, did some file tweaking and presto , now I have a Leo with correct sounds. Once you understand how the EL MOD file system works this is a really versatile system, with better capability then the Tamiya system. They have some really cool battle features , like random one hit take outs, and different hit damage based on where your tank gets hit. The biggest drawback with EL Mod is that it is a little intimidating with a steep learning curve. But I tell you I got some really good help from WSN on this forum this past week to help me out. I am looking for some more LEO sound clips. SO if anyone out there knows where I can find these, could you let me know. I hear there is a better set floating around then EL MOD provides. |

I am into this tank for about $550. This is fully IR ready with 3:1 gears and a really good sound system.

Nice find. do you punch out the centers on those wheel pieces? or do you have to dremel them out?
|
RE: YHR Hobby Engine Leopard conversion(now with video)
There are precut. You just pull them out.
