Default Where's the Jammin X2 T

Hi guys,

I've been driving only buggies for a couple years now and finally decided to get a truggy to keep my Jammin x1 company.

My intentions are to pick up the Jammin x2 truggy, but it's no listed on Amain anymore.

Has this model been discontinued or are they just out of stock?

Thanks

The Jammin X2 would have bee a competitive chassis 4 years ago...however these days its a dinosaur next to the competition...Jammin's 1/8 team has pretty much dissolved and there doesn't seem to be any sign they will be pursuing the 1/8 market in the future.......... So if someones looking for a new race Truggy they would be wise to buy a current competitive platform, not a car that is obsolete and on the verge of being discontinued.....Jammins were once top of the food chain in 1/8 racing...but now they are not even on the radar...its really too bad actually ....

jammin X2 CRT is every bit of competitive, still a great truggy. with it properly set up it can hang with the best of the truggies. i was faster with my X2 than my D8T but more consistent with the D8T However, now im faster and more consistent with my OD than both.... X2 is not out of date IMO, if thats was the case then Kyosho STRR is WAY out of date and everyone says it isnt.... i know alot of people that are faster with the X2 than their MBX6T or losi 2.0T but they run the mugen and losi because parts are easier to find, nitro house is about the only place that really carries ofna anymore... amain and other do too but just not like they do with other brands.

good truck better then my old losi 2.0, and definately durable, I can still easily run with any other truggy but it does take more time finding a good setup.

npot a chance...Mugen 6T runs circles around the X2......OUTDATED !! plain and simple... I had the X2 its nowhere near competitive to the Mugen.....

the only place the Jammin is decent is on a well groomed high bite clay track.. on a rough or loose track the truck is terrible....

its 85% driver anyways ... mine worked better the rougher it got... all setup and driving style, every truggy can be competitive ... the X2 does take more skill and all to go as fast as the newer truggies, the newer truggies are easier to go fast with but older ones can hang just as well, it just takes more skill ... my 2 cents.

My point is the X2 is expensive, its the same price as all the newer machines, its a old design that is widely known to be behind the times.... So if someone is starting from scratch in Truggy why choose a outdated obsolete design when you can buy a current modern design for the same or less money........

Thanks guys, as always, your input is highly appreciated.

I know the quality of Hong Nor (Jammin) and I like it, especially with the track we have out here. It's basically a TANK. Hardly anything breaks on the X2 and it can be driven aggressively.

Having said that, my original question was, "Has this model been discontinued or are they just out of stock?" Why is it not listed on Amain any more? It used to be....

By the by.....I've sent an email to Amain questioning that and I'll let you know their response.

supertib is right though, If I'm about to jump into the truggy end of this addiction, I really should get a current platform, not one that has been or is about to be discontinued.

It's actually quite worrisome really....there are only 10 models of truggies for sale on Amain...[&o]

Stadium Trucks and the like seem to be taking over the market...[:'(]

I like Mugen's drivetrain and rough track handling...I do not care for the 6T fuel tank as much as I do the older 5T or a Losi 2.0...The Mugen tank tends to act funny when the fuel starts getting lower.... The Losi tank holds a tune perfectly from start to finish......... The Losi seems to be a little more nimble on a tight grippy track... However on a rough blown out track the Mugen tends to be more stable.....The Losi has a little faster wear in the drivetrain, but has more hard impact resistance then the Mugen....

By contrast the jammin X2 is very good on a smooth high bite track...but we found that if the conditions were loose or the track was blown out, or both..the jammin became very hard to drive...its very unstable over the rough and its difficult to keep the truck on the power and going straight.... The longer chassis trucks soak up the bumps and track much easier in the loose...... If I were always on a smooth high bite clay the jammin would be great... But on our conditions it was nearly impossible to find the sweet spot for setup, the other truggies just seem much more forgiving and much easier to drive fast....... durability the Jammin is good. tho we snapped piles of arms and ate a few diffs, but considering the punishment we put it thru it was to be expected....

Here's my question to Amain Customer Support:

"Hi there,

Just wondering if you still carry the Jammin X2 Truggy Kit.

Can't seem to find it on your website and am interested in its status, is it a model that has been discontinued?"

Amain's response:

"Thank you for contacting A Main Hobbies.

unfortunately we do not

Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions."

$370 at nitrohouse.com. So, it's cheaper than many of the other truggies. I'll hold my X2 against any of the other trugs out there. It's more setup and driver than vehicle. If I lose, it sure won't be because I drove the X2. Give a pro like Bradley an outdated X1 and he'll still smoke many, many people with that outdated design.

If you have a hard time dialing in your own setup, then go with what people run at your track. If you can dial it yourself, get what you want. Heck, take the $$$ you saved from buying an outdated X2 over a Mugen and put it towards practice time. You'll be faster than buying that shiny new Mugen.

We went thru every setup...even had the aid of a sponsored Jammin driver...on our tracks the X2 wont keep up any more...we tried everything under the sun too...so its not like we gave up the first go...... All over Canada guys are phasing out the X2 as its no longer competitive.... maybe our tracks are too rough IDK...

Mugens may be durable, but do they really win a lot?

Not here, from what I have seen...(and I mean Europe generally...)

LOTS of people have them, but you never see them winning races.. But I guess, to be fair, the guys winning races are sponsored by other companies..., and Mugen don't seem to sponsor much...

If he's a local sponsored Jammin driver, run his setup. If he's not fast, he won't be sponsored for long. If he wasn't local, I doubt he'd have the time to sit down with you try everything to get it setup for you.

I don't see anything earth shatteringly different between any of the top tier truggies. Minor stuff here or there. There isn't a truggy out there that gives a large competitive advantage. If so, everyone EVERYWHERE would be driving it. And that isn't the case.

I've seen too many posts where truggy X can't do Y (insert attribute here - jump, corner, go through the rough, etc), but truggy Z sure can. Then the next guy on the thread posts his X sure can, but that Z he had couldn't. To just make some blanket statement that a Jammin can't hang on a loose or rough track is ignorant. I don't drive on blown out tracks, but I've driven on loose. I have no issues hanging with the 'new' truggies on the loose stuff.
