Just converted my TT ST-1 to brushless using RCProducts Design conversion kit. I have this ESC/Motor combo in route: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=9127
My question is this combo comes with a 21t pinion (not sure if it is a mod1 pinion or not). Is this too high for this system? Iplan on running on 5s for bashing only. Is 18t or 19t more appropriate? Never owned or setup a 1/8th scale brushless before. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds high but try it. If it still pulls hard (it will) and the temps aren't getting too high, you're fine. If you want more speed in future go to 6s and drop a couple of teeth.

Thanks for the reply. I did want to try it, just wanted to know if it was so ridiculously high that it would be a waste of time.....will have to try and find out if it is a mod1 pinion...anybody by chance know this?
Thought about 6s, but Iv had 1/10th scale brushless before on 3s and it was a bit too fast for me. Didnt get much enjoyment out of it due to it being so overpowered, so i ran 2s most of the time.
Again, thank you
