MBX5T body mounts
#1

I just bought a used MBX5T and am wondering what the distance is between the front and rear body mounts. I really like the Jeep wrangler body HPI sells for the Savage but I am not sure if it will fit or not. Th body is 18 inches long X 7.5-8.5 inches wide.

I'll measure for you tonight (that'll be about 10 hours from the time of posting) but I don't think it has a chance of fitting. You may have heard me mention a few times, I have a brushless converted MBX5T. Absolutely mad machine.
The thing with the body mounts is that they all sit below the shock towers, and whatever you put on the rear mounts will have to stop there (as in the body can't extend either along or down, after the rear body mounts due to the shock tower and the spoiler). I use a JConcepts Illuzion MBX6T body which needed quite some cutting to make fit nicely, here's a pic of the rear body mounts (showing how I cut the body), and the car itself, just for giggles

Thanks foxy. I am planning on getting taller body posts to allow the body to clear the shock towers. I think I even have some laying around somewhere that I can use that will extend the mounts about 1 1/2 inches. Awesome looking truggy BTW. I bet it flies! I have been missing my truggies lately and wishing I never got rid of them last year. I have been wanting one of these mugens for a long time! I hear they are pretty impressive.

I promise you it goes like nothing you've ever seen and the Mugen platform is tremendous. I never really expected to get away with putting that kind of power through it, but it's taken it, loved it (I bash it on 6s pretty much exclusively), and asked for more. Never skipped a beat.
Whenever I put it down at the bash spot, the RCers and the non-RCers alike, all stop and look.
The only issue is that parts are getting harder to find. Not impossible, but Mugen is one of those companies that expects you to upgrade when they bring out a new model, they don't support the old ones for long.
