right where do i start, i purchased a second hand losi 8ight truggy which had a force 28 engine which was playing up, so i decided to buy a new one of ebay, a losi 350 21 engine, then my mistake as i bought the engine and realised it didnt have a pullstart it was a rotorbox start, which i didnt have, looking into it to convert it to a pullstart it would have to have about £150 spent on it so threw that out of the window, then i purchased a losi starter box of ebay so i thought i was on a winner, knock back again, the starter wheel was nowhere near the flywheel on the engine (all lined up) so it looked then as i need a bigger flywheel, but then realised i cant fit one as it would catch the centre diff housing, the gap between the starter wheel and flywheel is about 15mm when pushed down, getting a bit to the end of my tether as what to do now as ive got the whole truggy set up but no working engine, what is the correct engine what is supposed to be fitted. already spent 190 quid on it and its just sat on my workbench going nowhere, very frustrated.

Post some pictures if possible.
One possibility is that you have an RTR engine mount, which sits too high(to accomodate the pullstart backplate). The Losi pro kits come with different mounts, which let the engine sit much lower..
My guess is you just need a basic engine mount from the Losi kit, not the RTR...
ps Since you're in the UK, go to the maxbashing.com forum and ask.. Also, if it is just a mount you need, you can probably find one on the forum there, if not just on ebay.co.uk, for cheap...

Ultimately, you can go in kind of two directions. One, you can just get a pull- or rotostart engine(pullstart over time will just make your life hard, period...), and get a cheaper .26 or .28 engine, and still have fun.. I.e., more of the messing around option.
Or, you have a starter-box, and you can use all the race engines out there. If you ever want to race for ex., you HAVE to go with a starter-box. In the UK for ex. the Argus A52 is an AWESOME, powerful race .21 that you can get for a good price.. Alphas too.. Starter boxes are also just ultimately more reliable than pull or roto-starts. Though you do have to lug them around...(I recently got a Mugen pit-bag in a buggy deal - GODSEND.....)
So anyway, if you've sold your box, then you need to decide which direction you want to go in... Sell your engine and buy one with a pull or roto start.. OR, get a starter box...
I used to hate the idea of the boxes too.. But over time, if you plan on being very active in 8th scale offroad RC, you just need one. WAY more engine options, and more reliable. And a must for racing.
Depends on you though, and what you want to do..

i didnt mind the karting about the starter box, i did look into converting the losi 350 engine to a rotor start but i would have needed a new crank, backplate, bearings and starter plate etc, costing around £150 for all and thought for that money i could buy a decent engine,

I edited above, but I'll say it again here - get a Mugen pit-bag.. GREAT for carrying around your box, tools, fuel, radio, etc.. all with one handle... Durable too..
