Exclamation Hpi truggy pinion gear help

Hello i have recently gotten back into Rc cars and a couple years back i got a hpi trophy flux truggy and everytime i drove it the pinion would slide off the shaft and stop driving how do i fix this i know i have too use thread lock red but where? thanks

I don't know if I would use the red thread lock, but the blue "medium" stuff, yes. Clean the grub screw, and pinion gear threads with motor spray, or electrical contact cleaner...something that evaporates quickly. Then you can apply your thread lock on the pinion gear grub/set screw; making sure it's on the flat spot of motor's shaft, and tighten as normal. Let the thread lock cure for 24 hours if possible.
