Default Brushless Jammim...

What do you think about it? I'm doing it when I get about $800 bucks to do it
500 for the jammin truggy and then 300 for the brushless system X)

Why?
Electric accelerates faster, NO MAINTENANCE unless you've ran your electric motor for 100 hours then you have to replace the bearings in the can, and is proven eectrics can beat nitros (all nitros) at my track when I raced my evader Pro with a novak SS5800 brushless motor in it it would beat any and all XXX-NT's

Maintenance is half of the fun for me.

I found this awhile ago at www.truggyracers.com.

some tracks are better for electric and other tracks are better for nitro

yea no kidding, larger open tracks are nitro dominated,... no possible way a brushless system beats my nitro at our track we all laugh at the electric classes as we marshall them.

Yeah, I'm a nitro fanatic, but I think that using a buggy or truggy platform for a brushless setup is a fantastic idea that betters the entire hobby. We should not compare them but the argument always starts with the electric guys making that speed comment about beating a nitro truck. The only place that you hear it is in a track situation where an electric car beat a nitro on a short track. It does happen but you never hear about in the great wide open or on a large track. I have never seen it happen. We should not compare them because that brushless system cost $350 plus the car and the nitro car was stock. Put a hand modified $350 engine in the nitro car and maybe run them. But anyway it' comparing apples to oranges and they deserve a separate class. That's just my opinion and if some would come up with a drop in system that I can switch back to nitro in the spring and race indoor electric in the winter a would buy it today.

Dual BL/s would not work because wvwn if one have 5 less RPM's then it would be useless

I am a nitro guy, but I believe that a dual brushless set up WILL beat ANY nitro. I have an RC18T with a brushless setup with 3S Lipo's and it is faster than any scale Nitro truck in a straight line no matter how it is geared. The only reason I prefer nitro is I love engines and smoke and noise and combustion and rev's, and getting my paws dirty YEAH!!! Nitro fumes in my brain!! [sm=bananahead.gif] If i nitro wasn't so expensive I'd drink O'donnel's and vodka. When I try to huff it I am afraid that I am wasting it. With nitro my run time is only limited by how much fuel I have. If you ever do the Jammin brushless conversion I would love to see pics because it would have to be all custom and I appreciate that sort of stuff. Sex with O'donnel, O'donnel iced tea and O'donell with a splash of lime juice. [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Most high end single brushless systems will beat nitro on a 1/8 scale buggy.

That's pretty impressive, but where I run the guys all have $400 modded motors from .21 to .28 and not hyper 21's. I'm not sure it's faster than any buggy or truggy that I know. Still really cool, hey how do I go about getting a CNC mill in my garage?! Studysession, I have an HPI Savage, do you think it's too heavy to do a brushless conversion?

People have converted those to brushless before. Plettenburg sells a brushless conversion for it. I think here in the US you can order it from rcboyz.com

That's the most ignorant statement I have read on any RC board.
