Default Hot Bodies Lightning GT

Hi, I don't know if this thread belongs here or in the MT forum(I have one there too..), but it's pretty hard to find info on these trucks, so I thought I'd ask the truggy guys...

Basically, I have a stock Savage 25, and want a second MT for bashing only. I want something bigger and faster than my Savage - but still needs to be nearly or as tough...

The normal price for this thing here in Germany is like €599 - but I bid on an auction for one from a shop yesterday, and lost in the last second.

BUT, the seller has offered to sell it to me for my highest bid - €370 - which is a hell of deal.

Thing is, I was pretty well set on an MGT 4.6(actually, I'm in Germany, so it's the MTA4 S28).. The set price for that is €460 - a higher price, but for a much more proven truck.

So I need to find out QUICKLY if this Lightning GT would be worth even the incredible deal I have a chance to get it at...

I'm kind of worried about the flat pan chassis, and only having four shocks.. As I said, this will only be for bashing.. I even hope to build a ramp this summer, and am already having visions of backflips...

So, can the Lightning GT handle it?

Any feedback, comments, or whatever would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks.

Can I even get a guess???...

What's gonna' be faster:

a 12-lb, 2-speed MGT 4.6,

or the less than 10-lb, single speed, Lightning GT?

Also, what's tougher?..

Thanks..

(REALLY hard to find info on this thing on the internet..)

For what you want (bashing) your better off with the MGT. The Lightning GT will turn faster laps on a track, but it's not a tough, which is what you want. Also, parts are easily found for the MGT. Not do with the Lightning GT.

Think you're probably right, but the "I'm getting such a great deal" factor is kind of swaying me...

Oh, this is the truggy forum...

Anyway, is this thing fast in a straight line? Will it beat a Savage over 100 yards in a dragrcace?..

(I know that's probably a dumb question to a serious racer...... But I take my bashing pretty seriously.....)

probably because HB is a subdivision of HPI which is one of the best bashing companies. So go wit the great deal.
