Hard on the eyes, bodies are only as ugly as the paint on them.

I don't see what you guys are on about, the crowd pleazer is hideous IMO. I like the Kyosho body, the way it flows looks good Haulins' truck is testimony to this, go on, deny it, i dare ya. The proline body can be seen on a eleventy million trucks[:@], and whats with those rear shock tower things on it[:'(]? Just looks wrong.

Thanks rosco
I agree The thing I really dont like about the crowd pleaser is the horendous front end, complete with leftoverheadlights from all the unsold 300c bodies.
Wish I could take credit for the body but I handed it to my buddy WheelNut and told him to do whatever he wanted.

Regardless who did the paint job, it's a fine example of a storming shell.

Though the body looks like it belongs on an RC10GT, that paintjob is pretty cool.

ive been racing my str for about a month now and have discovered a few problems with the truck...the shocks somtimes leak from the top because the shock body is sharp and it cuts the bladders ..the fix gently file the top of the body till smooth...another problem is the ring and pinion gears in the fron diff....this one cost me big at a recent race...according to a kyosho str factory driver it is a problem in design ...the fix keep lots ring and pinions or possibly switch to regular diffs and change the spur gear in the center to compensate for the diff gear ratio...the other possible fix is that i heard is to shim the diff with no backlash...im currently testing that one out...i had 3 races on the last set....the spiral cut was a bad idea mr kanai.......

I have well over five gallons On My stock ring and pinnions, and this is racing in the canadian offroad championship series(not just club racing).
EVERY REAL CAR USES SPIRAL CUT GEARS!!! Its not something new or unproven it just requires more time and effort to get it right.

I have to agree, it's not the spiral cut gears, but the diff housing around those gears. I have had continual issues with mine and have attempted to add more shims and more shims until I eventually lose the the gears themselves. I think that if Kyosho would strengthen the housing or least somebody make them in aluminum that we would not have these issues. Although that being said I have never had to touch the rears. So I replied to this particular thread because I'm tired of this truck due to the issues with the diff, I cannot seem to get through a complete night without this truggie coming apart. I am very pleased with everything else about it handling, the steering is awesome. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i think its one of the best for sure. i have yet to see another truggy out steer this thing without doing any modifications. out the box its a dialed kit (once assembled of course). put any of the top truggy's in the right drivers hands, you got yourself a winner regardless.

Motopro ... your not alone. Sorry your having issues.

My friend owns a small private track here in Orange COunty CA - where kyosho and losi and AE r&d their stuff ... and their drivers prep for races ... He owns the Kyosho ST-R - he's had continual issues with the diffs - he's blasted 5 now. The Kyosho Pro drivers are assisting him and his truck is now in their hands and they have vowed to show him the fix. He should get it back soon. Here's a guy who knows what hes doing - AND he's getting weekly advice from the Team Drivers on how to keep his truck running - and still having a tough go of it. Dismissing the problem as a user assembly error or newb stupidity simply is not a viable cop out IMHO. Somethign real is up.

I hope to run at the track with him this Sunday - if so - perhaps I can get some ideas for a fix for you guys.

And damn that Lexan looks PImp!!!!

Nice looking truck ...

PS - dude how many trugz you got? LOL.....
