*caugh*dictionary*caugh*
but uh you may wanna upgrade to a metal geared servo. Ready to run servos aren't usually that good... what is it that you hit?

RE: HPI HELLFIRE STEERING SERVO
I DIDNT EVEN HIT ANYTHING.
IT WUZ DURRING THA BREAK IN.
ON THE HELLFIRE IT TELLS U NOT TO TURN THE STEERING SERVO THROW PAST 50%. THE PROBLEM WITH THAT IS, AT 50% THE CAR WONT TURN SHARP AT ALL.
DO U THINK THAT METAL GEAR WULL DO IT FOR ME??

RE: HPI HELLFIRE STEERING SERVO
I got the spektrum dx3 radio and receiver, it came with 2 servos for $199 and I used the z590 servo for the steering in my Hellfire. Works great and havent had a problem with it other then having to send in the receiver to have the program updated in it.

RE: HPI HELLFIRE STEERING SERVO
i bought a hitec 645mg and it lasted one race. it is a piece of crap. i now have 4 broke 645mg's! i should have learned a long time ago.
i went out and bought 3 titanium geared servos from hitec. that way i have a back up and i put the other one in my savy. the other savy has a rock crusher in it. i hightly recommend the titanium geared servos. ys they cost more to start with but they will pay for themselves in the long run.
hpi will send you new parts for your stock servos though.

RE: HPI HELLFIRE STEERING SERVO
Here is my Radio system. Top of the line...
Futaba S9351 High Torque
FUTM0236
Volts Torque Speed
4.8V 153.0 oz-in. 0.16 sec/60°
6.0V 192.0 oz-in. 0.13 sec/60°
Dimensions Weight
1.6 x 0.8 x 1.5 in. 2.0 oz.
3PK Titanium Black
Futaba's first 3PK carried competition-level control speed and accuracy to new heights. Now there's a second version – with much more to offer than its obvious fresh, "high-tech" looks. The 3PK Black includes a synthesized module, conveniently located beneath a sliding hatch on top of the transmitter. Rotary adjustments on the module allow you to change channels as easily as turning a dial...without changing crystals. Popular features continued from the first 3PK include an easy-to-read, backlit LCD; programming menus tailored to three skill levels; electronic restoration of settings weakened by time or vibration; and the ability to operate in FM, PCM, or advanced HRS (High Response Speed) transmission modes — so you can take full advantage of digital servos' potential!
System Features:
* Synthesized module with rotary adjustments for dialing-in channels without changing crystals
* Expandable, 10-model memory with 12-character naming and data copy, clear, transfer and keylock functions
* Choice of "New Driver," "Race-Ready" or "Expert" menus to offer easier programming for sport drivers and two levels of adjustment sophistication for competitors
* "Direct Select" that allows fast, two-button access for up to six driver-selected functions
* Large, backlit LCD with adjustable contrast and 128 x 64 dot resolution
* APA (Advanced Positioning Adapter) for customizing radio balance and wheel "feel" to driver preference
* Assignable switch and dial functions
* 2 programmable mixes for complex custom set-ups; brake mixing for 1/5 scale vehicles and boat mixing
* Digital trims and dials with automatic electronic memory
* Subtrims on all channels
* Servo reversing on all channels
* EPA (End Point Adjustments) on all channels
* Failsafe and battery failsafe
* Easy conversion to right-/left-hand use
* Up/down, lap and system timers
* Direct Servo Control (DSC) (Cord available Seperately)

Either of these would work.

RE: HPI HELLFIRE STEERING SERVO
here's the dealio on the servo, it has plastic gears and if you don't listen to hpi in ref to the servo throw past 50% than the cheap plastic gear will strip. put in a metal gear servo and that is that, no more problems

RE: HPI HELLFIRE STEERING SERVO
The higher torque a servo has, the more succeptable it is to damage if the EPA is not set correctly. At least, that is what the Hitek tech told me. (After 3 Hitek 645's went south in 3 months). BTW, I won't buy Hitek again because I did set the EPA correctly.
