Wow, got my St-1 in today, did a couple break it tanks... and wow, I have not even began to get this engine in tune or anything and im already thinking about trading my 3.3 maxx... Great truck.
Grim,

When I got my ST1 the my highly moded max was put on the shelf and not touched since. I was tired of fixing it all the time. I hated to see it go because of all the time and money I have put into it but it had to go[&o] To be honest I dont miss it at all. Actually I dont even think about it anymore. The St1 has been such joy to drive and race. Its nice knowing that you can go out and play without thinking what am i going to have to fix when im done. I can see why truggies are the thing to have now. They are just amazing!

Twomany, I know exactly what you mean. Luckily, I got my max used and have not put that much money into it (just $20 for MIP center drive shafts) I have had it for over a month now and have only used it a couple of times. Everytime i do get to use it, it breaks, or wants to be difficult. Using the ST-1 just today makes me realize why so many people hate on Maxx's. I guess it doesnt help comparing it to the ST-1 though. All in all, i couldnt be happier. Cant wait until I get a chance to hit the track!

Any of you guys balance your tires? I got the dubro prop balancer and am going to balance my race tires. Just wondering how much good it actually does.

wth what bad luck! Sorry to hear about all this trouble [:'(] Are you sure it is stripped?? Go to the shop and see if they have a screw that fits in place. Also grab some locktite.
Ha ha - it's really not a big deal. The starter box got my blood pressure up but the truck is running great so not overly concerned. As for the screw that i had in the servo saver- it already was a replacement - going to try a little of my g/f's nail polish on it to see if that helps though. If not, what do you guys think about the metal pro servo saver? Amain has some disclaimer about how it freezes up and that you should just use the plastic.

baboso - we should totally bash sometime - although I'm going to spend most of my time racing at either awesome r/c in stafford, va or nuclear r/cby baltimore. I also convince two of my friends to buy st-1's but they still haven't taken them out of the box yet???

Jombo,

I was able to straighten one, it's not perfect, but it works. The other was too bent, I had to cut it.

So what do you guys think about the pro metal servo saver upgrade? The disclaimer on Amain's website about how it freezes up and that you should just use the plastic worries me especially as it's so pricey. Any thoughts??

I think it's a waste. No need for it. Just locktite your screws going into the steering rack.

Got my motor.

Now I need to sell it.... I bought 2 things and forgot to bank some money. Anyway since they didn't clear (items were $13 and $18) they charged me a $37 fee for each thing that didn't clear.... Great.

Becuase I bought 2 other things $13 and $18 item. My bank account didn't have enough money and they charged me a $37 fee for each thing that didn't clear!!! I had the cash on my table to, just didn't get around to cashing it That almost $80 could have been spent on new LPR wheels.......... Now they are charging me interest, and I don't have a bank account either that I can use ATM Now I am late on paying 2 people on ebay and I got all these complaints....... I found out in a sad way to, I was at the mall with a few friends and they kept swipping my debit and it said declined on a $2 drink [>:] I sent you a pm back soccer thanks. If you want it, I want to make sure it runs perfectly and is a sure fire motor. I don't want you buying into something that wont fire up.

Why is it that you guys change the shocks. The stock ones are perfectly fine. If you want it to handle different you have fluid, spring and valve changes.

And red what axles do you have on it?

Those are just boots. I ask the same question. Supposedly people say the shock operates better lol. Just drill holes in the piston.
