Well guys just got finished racing at the lunsford gas blast. Was so much fun but never made it through the qualifers do to a broken front knuckle. To bad it's not easier to get parts for locally. Anyway it handled great, the SW V2 .26 hauls butt! I had no problems clearing the triple and held my own on the straight. Hopefully next time it will stay in one piece so I can make it to the mains. Here are some pics of track.

No thats the funny thing this morning before qualifiers I tightened it down pretty good. It broke right after the triple, which I knuckled so I'm sure that did it. It was my first real race though and so much fun.

I dont think parts are lacking just that we are all having bad luck....... My dad talked to the HS guy and he told him that they carry AE parts. And that TTR owns AE (I knew that) So they at least know my truck! and can help me out.

Ched , awesome track, were racing on the georgia red clay, and I would think the "black dirt" would seem more consistent. I was watching the RCPro qualifiers today at my local track and when the clay is damp, its awesome, but unfortunately in FL its too hot for it to stay wet long =O .

And I am in agreement with Max, theres so many of these truggies being sold I think is the reason for some of the parts not being available, I know personally this is week 3 for Amain not having the wing mount. And before I get flamed all to heck, I am just guessing as to why some of the popular parts are hard to find.

I bought the same servo (MG995) and it worked pretty well in my buggy, but the damn gear at the top. The one that has two colours there pressed into place I think and it seperated. Other then that seemed pretty good.

I think on the steering mod the angle changes a bit wich in turn gives it a little more throw. I drove mine today for the first time with the ace 1313 and 1015 servos and mugen battery with the airtronics radio and it was so much easier to make it go where I wanted it to, was not exspecting so much

Unlucky Chedster. That track looks like fun, its pretty tight but your mugen hubs would help make light work of that. Im amazed at the handling of my PRO now that iv got the steering mod and the mugen hubs. Iv tuned the suspension a bit too but still running 40wt in all 4 shocks and it turns soo sharp you almost dont see it and think its going in reverse all of a sudden lol

Hey guys, I did the Saxton mod, and am using the larger spacer for more caster, but I am still not too impressed with the steering. I am running a 160 ox servo till Wed when I get the 300 ox monster, do you think that may be my problem ? IE my steering servo is a little weak? I think its that or a weak receiver pack, so I ordered another 5cell pack also. Just looking for opinions...Jay

Its a combination of things. But yeah your servo, your reviever pack and your suspension setup all add up for the good steering. Im just between tanks in finishing off the run in of my new S7 so i'll make a little vid of how mine handles so you can compare

Itchy, thanks, that would help a lot. I am thinking once I get the better servo installed, a working ( for sure working) receiver pack Ill be happier. Im sure it doesnt help I am running it on the grass also as I am sure that is harder to turn on than clay, IDK, Im not gonna make any judgements yet, like I said, it could be user error [:-] Everyone else seems pretty darned happy, so its gotta be something amiss on my end.

ya the track was tight for sure, I was running 50wt all around which was a bit heavy I thought. I am in the same boat as you jay, steering is not quite what I'm looking for but I just dont have it setup correctly yet. I'm debating whether to keep the truck or get something that I can get parts for locally. Probably a losi 8ight or wait for the team associated truck

Heres that vid for you Jay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3v5LqfWUng Sorry its not exactly showing its turning in this footage, i got dad to film it and hes a noob at everything and he always films things at the wrong time either too soon or too late lol I didnt know when he had the camera on or not and he got me just playing around but i had to stop after this vid cause the feet you see right at the end are the dude across the road coming over to complain about the noise so i promised him id pack it up for the day. Theres a bit if turning in there but nothing special. Im running 7k-30k-1k diff oils so its not as sharp as my usual 7k-10k-1k for racing

Jay I would say it is defintly the pack, if you are going to a massive torge servo like you say I would recomend a pack that is 2400 mugen makes one that works great, you will need it if you ever run a long main. I do not know how to post direct links but you can get it at Amain for like $45. Also I do not know how much that servo is you talk about but I am sure it is up there like all the rest go to Amain and read the reveiws on the ace 1015 I will second the reveiws it is great you really don't need any thing more, and it's made by thunder tiger so has to be durable. I will be posting video soon as I figur it out.

Ched you might be better off now just getting spare parts and just having them on tab. Like spare servo's and a backup motor, a hubs, front a-arms, and get the tuning braces which are also your spare lower braces.

I just fried one of them after only using it for a few weeks. The red/white wires somehow got hot and touched...started smoking and that was only after being powered up for a minute as I tried to start my motor. I am debating getting replacements

Hey guys...can you help me for a sec?

I have the pro.28 in an HPI savage and I made a bit of a mistake. I bought a new body (graverobber) and didn't think at the time to add additional ventilation. Well after 5 minutes I noticed performance decreased...so I brought the truck in and hit the temp gun on it. I am afraid to tell you how 5 minutes of the body on grass got the temps up to 400.

I freaked out, cooled it completely and made sure there was a little fuel inside to help cool it down with the piston on the bottom of the crankcase. After cooling I crossed my fingers and the motor ran/started fine. Put the truck away and now a few days later I can't get it to start. Problem isn't internal damage at all but a problem with pinch...too much of it! So much that my pullstart just skips with the one way and my tiger start just hangs up with an occassional burp of the motor turning over infrequently.

What should I do? It turns over at the flywheel although the pinch seems even tougher then new.

Am I screwed?

I am bummed because I broke it in properly last week and always kept it noticeably rich. The one time I let me guard down and ran it hot I am paying the price.

Why does nitro have to be such a pain sometimes?

Sure this is my fault but it seems like this motor/truck nickle and dime me constantly.

Preheat the motor. If you got it up to 400F i would have let it idle with the body off instead of trying to cool it down and letting the sleeve contract quickly. Should fire up.

this truck is a screamer. just ran first two tanks in st-1 with an already broken in spec 3. its a tire shredding machine. my question is . the last 2 race seasons ive raced mgt's, i have lots of tires but the wheels are 14mm not 17mm. does anybody know of a company that makes adaptors to run 14mm hexs on a 8mm axle? I cant even think of how they would be made but i bet somebody makes them.i realize 17mm are way better but ive seriously got like 12 sets of tire on 14mm rims, and i can tell after running the st-1 the mgt,s ( ive got 3 that run) arent going to get ran as much. thanks for all your guys help!
