I WISH ! that was my stash guys, but I only own 2 of the approx. 20 vehicles there, the matrix in front, and the TTR ST_1 in back.
These photos were however taken in my pub, that's where we held our first ever Grand Falls RC club meeting, I was named tresurer.
We had a real good turn out, and I hope it continues to grow.
Thanx alot Blade for all the great unbiased info on the truggies, makes chooosing alot easier,.... I'm thiiiiinkin........ ST-1 Pro probably.
I have the rtr, and it handles great, and is really tough too, if the pro is even better, WOW!! Tha's all I have to say[8D]
Here are some more pics of my matrix and ttr, and some vehicles at the club meeting. I just painted the body on the matrix 2 days ago, I think it came out great, and to think I thought that I had totally ruined it,(overspray) but then I just descided to go with it and Voila! there are about 5 people that want me to paint their next cabs, hmmmm
Have a great day guys, and keep the shiny side up!

Suscribed!
I just ordered my ST-1 from A-Main on Sat., $385 shipped with the extra electric shaft starter, not a bad deal with the $25 off coupon on top.

yuppers,
the new pros come with a clear body, killer offset rims, and a set of tires.....
no pipe
but still my Brothers trucks were pretty dialed!! i was Noticing they also came with the Lightend Pillow balls !!! and other little stuff here and there.....he did however get a TTR pipe...was a One piece (pipe and Manafold) for 35.00 part number TTR 9796-1
put it on his STS .28 and it hauls ......ya know......
well was good already? but it "Seemed" a little easier to tune???...
found it's "Sweet Spot" as they say......
the guy that sells them doesn't have a web site...[
]
he just doesn't want to deal with it?? strange i guess....???
i asked him yesturday about it, when we were kicking it at lunch....he just said if we could get rid of them online be fine...?????? since we have a site? he doesn't, told him sure i supose?
hey ya Dirt.....is that your ST-1 the one with the "Yellow" with Black with white stripe?
kinda like that one....
i was going to paint one like that to put on our site....just looked "Clean"
with our "Windows" .......
but i did not want to post someones body on our site? and have them upset...????

Wow thanx Blade, that's high praise coming from you. If you want to post that pic, or paint your own similar, feel free man, the so called black is actually yellow overspray, with black over top, kinda looks olive green graphite kinda, lol
you can see it here.
I checked out your gallery, nice stuff man! I also checked out your site.
The ttr st-1 here in Canada retails for 699.00,[&o] RTR, But the LHS is trying to work something out with other dealers. Where are those great deals you spoke of, I only found the pro at A Main Hobbies. Do you know of any other places? Appreciate any help?

Ohhhh, ok i see t now.......the colors.....
i just like it looks "Tight" simple to the point....and with stickers still looks good.....
i use Modified Tiger bodies...look real close but no "Humps" in the front...if that makes sence?
but the guy that sells them he doesn't have a anything on the web....??? i mean nothing Online?
he just never bothered??? doesn't like doing shipping either??? he's a older Gentalmen kinda a small "Mom and Pop" place...he's got our "Attitude" he's all about the "Joe Racer" not how much stores can Gouge ya.......
kinda a small retail store but there "Hammered With Business".....he said if i wanted to move product for him? i said sure...??? but i am "Not" charging for it....
(he's just across the way anyways LOL)
so everyone gets the same price if you were right there in his store......
so for our Canadian Neighbors here are some shipping rates...hope this can help so you don't have go looking all over the web.....
so say for "Example a Whole Truck" he's selling the whole pro's shipped for:
Global Express 1 - 2 Days $475.25
Global Express Mailâ„¢ (EMS) 3 - 5 Days $459.58
Airmail Parcel Post 4 - 10 Days $440.55
kinda crazy how much they charge just to Canada...??? i mean your just "Next Door"
Geographicly speaking...
but he sold 5 in the last 3 days...so he's out......
but he said he'll have more in a week....after driving my Bro's i think i am gonna get one too...
asked my bro if i could buy one of his he said "No way".......LOL....
talk about brotherly love....LOL.......
i did set one of his up how i thought may be a little better...???
put S3 rear shocks in th front....ran 5k in the front 7k in center Kyosho 4k in rear...
everything else pretty much stock...?, 2 deg squat 2deg toe and rear hubs forward
50wt. in Rear(associated) 40wt.(associated) in front......with Holeshots
and i have to say...it's "Stupid Stuck" to the track....with steering..
Oh, yea 2deg. of camber all around and 1.5 toe out,.......
now the one's were making have a Geomerty simular to the Mugen's.....
this thing the ST-1 Pro is right on par with it.....??? and dang close to the Mugen...???
as far as i can tell...so i would have to say someone starting out?,
if they had parts close by in there areas? or did not mind getting there stuff online? this thing is pretty Strapped!!!
and after going in this guys shop and looking over the RTR ST-1
only differences on the New ST-1 RTR's and the "Pro's" is all the Graphite....and offset rims
and the Hocky-puck tie rods....but that is a easy fix.....
hope that can help everyone......

That's great Blade, but my LHS did some dickering with her suppliers, and came up with a good price, so I think I'll support her store, wouldn't want her going belly up because I bought elsewhere to save 20 bucks, you know what I mean. I reaLLY appreciate all the usefull info that you provide me and also everyone else. If we had more people like you lookin out for people like me, the world would be a much better place, not to mention they would all have RC Cars lol

Hey Blade, I was just wondering when and where on your site my pic will be posted, I would love to see it, I visited the site,(AWESOME BODIES MAN)! I'll also get the woman that has our LHS to contact you for replacement bodies, that should boost her sales a bit with the affordable prices.
PS> We got about a foot of snow since yesterday,[
] that's gonna back things up a bit, oh well! Still snowing too!![&o] it's 12:30 pm here now.

i have special rates going for our Canadian "Neighbors"
just seems so unfair for the price hikes on shipping....????.....ya know....???
the body pic...there wasn't going to be a "Price" set to it...but a "General" picture on the site...
also going to be one being made on a "Video" segment on http://www.undergroundrc.com/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=70
figured be a cool pic....to add to the site....there going to do another Video shoot at my "Other Shop" so i'll do the revised one then....i'll send pics of it before we post it...
i get alot of mail on "Pinstripes" i figured Hey!! what better one with a straight forward design!!
simple but "Effective".....but stil llooks "Tight"
were going to do 2 of them one with "AirBrush" and one with Rattle Cans......
reminded me of the other ones we have done for other Manufactures

well had a chance to drive one, Compleatly "Box Stock Pro"
no practice, no time on the track, just put it together "Literaly" tossed it on the track! missed my first Qualifier, made the second, made like 5th or 6th overall??? and that was my "Practice" during the second Qualifier....!?!?!?!?!?!
and kicked butt in the Main, Vince Stolo (Losi Driver) and myself were getting hammered with back traffic getting tossed around but still
for me getting tossed from 3rd to 9th(closing on second)
back to 4th tossed to 10th back to 3rd in the end getting side swiped was an Acciedent from a driver falling on to the straightaway...and i got spun out trying to avoid it,ending up on my lid
and still comming back to take 4th in the "Pro" class....i can say the truck felt very stable
and most "Important" easy to drive....can be pushed simular to like the Mugen's when driven hard they respond well......
with no "modifications, no Upgrading diffs, no conversions, and parts fit were if one was assmebling an "X-Ray"....good parts fits and easy to understand directions......
but overall
Equipment used:
RGX body (of corse) Spektrum System on M8 radio,
RGX GX200 servos (200 oz. @ .09) stock tiger rims with Holeshots
and STS .28 motor (Stock) with RGX stainless Steel shoes.....
set up:
diffs front to rear, 5k,7k,4k , 2deg. Block (Included in kit! as well 1.5, 2.5,and a 3 block!!)
all related hop up's already Included!!! all carbon fiber (Thick parts)
shocks rear 50wt. (associated) front 40wt. (associated)
rear hubs "Centered"
Oh, and best of all "No E-Clips" ANYWHERE on the car nothing to lose,or pop off or have to modify to make sure they do not come off.....
all i can say is with "No Practice" this is what gets all of us when you first hit the track you wonder what the car will do???
this one held no Suprises....it felt pretty close to a "Mugen" if this can make sence?? but about 325.00 less....(depending where you shop??)
(after Leaving CEN i "Bought" a Mugen MBX-5T a good truck as well)
on the TTR ST-1 PRO
only thing i had to Adjust to my "Driving" was the brake Bias....during my first Qual. had a little too much front brake in stock settings for "Me".....
with it's new gear ratio's had "Killer Punch" with out using a "Insanely" huge spur gear.....
even with the "Stock" STS .28 i was able to come out of a corner sharper and clear Jumps a little easier than most....
now parts? some areas may not have a bunch??
only 4 places for "Me" here "Localy" to me within 15 to 20 miles sells parts for me?
(one shop is Just across the way now for us)
but if parts are a real Issue check your areas first? but can say if deciding to get your first "Race" Orintated race "platform truck" (Not a RTR, Ready to Run)
you might want to take a second look....as well if you did not mind getting parts "Online"
parts are Very VERY "Inexpensive" not Cheapy made ...."Inexpensive"
now with only a 5 minute Qualifier and a short main to "Figure out the car"
with all "Honesty" i would have to put this truck in the top 4 for Race Platforms
has steering without modifing "Knuckels or pillow balls" and plenty of rear traction without going over board to make it push......or not too much steering to make it loop in every corner...
example Jammin CRT Excelent truck....works well hadles great, parts Very Expensive!!
Kyosho ST (pro model) great truck as well....but the price may not be what some may like when buying there "First Truggy".....
Mugen MBX-5T best balance for typical aplications parts bout Middle of the road? but still on the upper end price side.
TTR ST-1 PRO pretty Simular to the Handling Mugen with the steering of a CRT, the design is much different but overall well balanced
and for example "Optional CNC parts" say for a rear Block there under 20.00 bucks depending where you shop.....

Any dealer that sells Thunder tiger cars and parts should have those wheels, not sure which tires those are though, I have OFNA offset wheels, and tires.
A Main hobbies has a big selection of stuff for the Tiger
Good luck

Well my brother bought one of these from A-Main Hobbies, I helped him break it in and get it running...
The steering servo died 2 or 3 tanks after break-in and didn't even have enough oomph to turn the truck - this was just on grass, the truck was never jumped, flipped or rolled over... I guess it's to be expected though but just a heads up. And the throttle servo is extremely slow as well - all this on a 6 volt pack too... He also had a loss of control at about 50 feet away - damn RTR radios. I'll be going with him to the LHS to pick him out a new radio system and some quality servos for this thing...
This thing seems sort of slow, doesn't have the "oomph" and acceleration of my Matrix TR - my brother is a bit disappointed.
But upon inspection, I see that the Matrix TR has a HUGE center spur gear in relation to the ST-1 RTR - so I'm thinking it could be a gearing issue, plus the motor seemed to be overheating, I had to richen it up more than I thought I needed to to keep the temps down, of course we haven't gotten the truck on a wide open area yet so I think it would wind up good on the top end. But the acceleration just isn't there. I'll assume I can get a larger spur gear for this truck?

have to agree with "Wax" the motors overall the stock tiger .28's take a little longer. but in the end there pretty good not too bad for the "Average motor"...
and yes the Gear ratio on the cen is "Allot Different" about 99% of the racing platform type trucks will use the "Gear Ratio" close or the same as the TTR (Kyosho,Mugen,Jammin etc.)
though not as close or as "Smooth" as other trucks they do have bottom end from there gear ratio, but the "Factory Guys" including myself (I used to drive for CEN) we "Changed" out the spur gear but that was "Us" many do like it but we found it helped
under most "Racing Conditions"
but there really nice for just tearing it up in the field or local bashing spot....

well now after about a "Month" of using the new Tiger ST-1 PRO in "Race Conditions" i must say been one of the more easier trucks to run and set up......
parts might be an Issue to some???
but Locally in our area there are about 4 or 5 places that carry parts? sadly not at the shop at Revelation....where i'll Frequent most.
(But that might Change).....(wink)
last night (sat. Night) was one of the better examples, solid times and "Consistent" within my driving arrangements.....
(Yet Again)
except for my first Qual. my tower was "already" Cracked was just a matter of "When".....LOL....last 2 laps...big jump= "final snap".....
hey it's racing it happens....
second Qualifier....."laidback a little" pulling solid times in the laps but hanging low...to see where the comp was going to lead me too...
but overall for being a"Completely" STOCK TRUCK..(New ST-1 PRO)
and a "Stock STS .28"
other than tires, side by side i would have to say it is "Pretty Close" to the Mugen MBX5T Prospec.......
i would have to give the Mugen the edge on it cause they did there Homework on the base set up on the Mugen.....
the Thunder Tiger might need a setting here and there oil wise in the shocks....
BUT, overall there pretty darn "Close to each other"
Ok, some will ask what about the main?
well that was my fault...i left a screw loose when doing some oil changes and broke a pin when it got locked......
(left screw out on diff case"My Bad"
,diff moved, and locked drive line, broke axle pin)
It happens.....
Oh, many may be Interested in also in noteing after about a month of Racing and about a months worth of drive time by a track near my other house.
(hanging with some friends) about 4 gallons so far.....
there is "No Wear on my drive cups" and i have to admit somewhat unusual for a truck of this High end caliber
"Most High end trucks" such as this driveline parts wear fast?
but on these not any "So Far"i guess this may be due to the "Spring Steel" they use.......
and the parts are Very VERY "Inexpensive" not Cheap...but high quality and "Inexpensive"
a first time rookie may think about this truck if deciding on starting out for the first time.....
as everything is included top Quality parts as well as some
"Factory Option Parts" not usually included in many kits many costing hundreds more.......
AND
"Body, rims and tires are Included"........at $420.83 (out the Door)
yes "Out the Door" the New ST-1 "PRO" may be something
"Worth Considering" if one doesn't have the 600.00 plus to spend?
as it "Already comes with all it's Upgrades"
(Towers,braces,Chassis braces, redesigned diffs,
"Hard Anodized Parts" etc.)
and since "Associated" has been part of it for about 2 years now the new ST-1 PRO is a Killer Upgrade from it's earlier Predecessor.
More stuff, better parts!!!.always a good thing!!! helps the Walet too..!!!!!
now just wondering about the Buggy....?????(Associated RC8)
will it be the New Tiger....??????????????
since Thunder Tiger is the "Parent Company"......???
and there now "Under the Same Roof".......just a thought...???

I just ordered the RTR version, and man am I excited
. This is my first truggy, and the first time I am going to try rc racing. It's going to take another couple of weeks before I can order some parts to make it more race worthy, but for now I at least want to get a receiver pack. Which one is the right fit for the ST-1, and any suggestions on what would make this truck a more capable racer would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Here is some video of our track last weekend. The track just put in a new lay out and every one was having some trouble. The new rhythm section was jacked. It was better to roll it rather than flip off the track. I am in the green/orange TTR ST-1. If you want to know about the durability of the ST-1 check out 2:45 into video in back right corner. I am flipping over, but it landed back on its feet.

the RTR more race worthy......???
honestly.....??? not very much.....???
maybe Wax can come up with a few other things too but in short....
the offset rims..pretty much standard......
and"Tires" best suited fo "Your Track".......
Oh, towers......the carbon fiber ones.....
part#'s pd2311-b front
and pd2312-b rear
and steering slider comes with bearings pd2315
and front rear plate on case part# pd1850
and servo saver top plate pd1843
Oh, and the front top plate pd1885 that will give it some structural performance and "Bling"
but even still the stock towes are not that bad???
given the design of the truck they will probally last longer than most will think.
oh, almost forgot the rear wing mount.....part# pd2320........cause it just looks killer!!
maybe some other stuff....???
but the bigest one is the offset rims....the ofna ones will work as well if your local shop has them.......
part# 86105 those are the yellow ones i think the white ones are the same except the last "Digit" and they come in a 4 pack....and there about 15.00 or 16.00....
