For $300, hmmmmmm, why not save up another hundred dollars, save yourself all the trouble, and buy a [link=http://www.thercshack.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3219]SAVAGE[/link]?

if your gonna race, get a buggy dude.
dont get the dadders braces, i say make your own lol. heck i could make one with sticks from my backyard [&:] i think mammoth parts are VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY^100th power badly priced and expensive. for the price of aluminum hinge pin retainers, you could easily get 4 gallons of fuel, or even more. for the price of braces, you can get 20 glow plugs, lasting you the life of the truck. just get another car with good aftermarket support, or one that is so good it doesnt need A/M support (ehemm..turmoil...ehemm). check out sportwerks RTRs, for the price you would spend for a hopped up mammoth, you can get a RTR filled with insanely sweet features, and also a really good/reliable FM radio. amen

GO BEARS!

A lot of the problems I've had have been from noob errors, and of course, BAMF and Aznbasher are gonna recommend what they have because they have it and think it's the best. Truthfully, they've been bashing on me for having XTM since I got the truck, while it was the only one I could afford at the time. Look at My Models, the thing has come a long way with ugprades that still need to be put on, it's not the best truggy on the market, but it can be made into a decent racing vehicle. I really like the custom upgrade options for the ST, and I think that it's a pretty good truck for the money. I completely agree with Bhouse on the flaws in our trucks, we can only blame one person, US. And if you check out my review, you'll see that I admit it. I say to get whatever you feel is right, you're gonna get different opinions from each person. I would get the ST if you really want something to go crazy and upgrade, but the parts support really isn't there. I don't really have any problems parts wise, because I can't get to the LHS till the weekend anyway. IMO 300 is a pretty tight budget to buy a nitro, but it can be done. Also, the Mammoth ST is 370 right now on Hobbypeople. Overall, do what you think is right, you can go with the Mammoth ST and join XTM, or you can go and join another company's novelty. My opinion is do what you think is right for you, just research the truck before you buy it through organized reviews, etc. Good luck and have fun!

yeah, i think its a good truck, and i got mine for $175, and thats all i could spedn for a rtr, sooo basically, go with what your budget provides, cuz if u want to spend $1000 on a nitro truggy, u most likely wont get a mammoth st, unless u want to buy everysingle upgrade

The Muggy is pretty heavy, it's heavier than the Mammoth ST. Of course, nobody knows much about it yet, but I'm just saying based off specs.

You could always try the CEN .46 if you were really curious. I'm not sure how the trans would handle it though, maybe it would bust or maybe it would stay in tact. You would probably have to get a new engine mount if I'm not mistaken. Definately a cool idea though if I were to say. [&:]

Since it's gonna get cold over by me, I'm gonna renovate, hopefully I can get some pics up for you to see. My truck will probably be out by next spring when it starts getting warm again, I need to wait for b-day + Christmas to get money for more upgrades. Good luck with your truck!

sheesh steven run it in the cold at least... it not like your trucks gonna blow up. how come you keep on upgrading your truck aand those upgrades are used sparingly? btw, new addition to my garage- HPI Rush and Savage with Axial .28 i smell jealousy in the air . the rush is a 100% for sure, but the savage is still pending. he said hell trade, but i emailed him back again to say its a done deal. AMEN.

Japhlet,
How do you suggest I run my truck in the cold if it's torn down for renovations? This is the only truck I have so I go all out on it, I already got into numerous arguments w/ my parents about another truck, and unfortunately, I lost every one. I don't wanna sell because I'll lose money, can't you just understand my viewpoint? Congrats on the trade and I guess you'll be needing that receiver?

anywayz, how about that roto start, ther is one from ofna, which looks like it will fit, its for ofna, picco, xtm engines, .21-.28, so i think it should work, same mounting holes, i'll try it out

I actually had the Savage 21 roto start installed in my 24.7 and it really chewed up my OWB and shaft. Ask BAMF, it sucked really bad. I really believe in pull starts now, starter boxes are just one more thing to worry about charging and I already have enough to worry about. I suggest staying with the pull start, then you don't need to charge anything else, and if your truck's properly tuned, it should start in the 1st-2nd pull.
