Default New losi Muggy

Someone over in the LST forums posted a link to this! It seems pretty applicable to the truggy forums.

Monster-Truggy... Looks pretty nice, but obviously it will require some upgrades to remain a competitor.

that reminds me of the lst2
Shares alot of the *same* parts as the LST2 actually. Interchangeability makes repairs cheaper =)

Ok on the subject of The new Losi Muggy... All I can say is this... I have bought nothing but Losi for about 15 years now and this is the one R/C that will make me possible never buy Losi again! I have had nothing but problem after problem and then the parts are on back order! I am so hacked I spent all of this money on this piece of $#^&. Anyway.. just my thoughts

Wow.. That's an old thread.. I recently picked up a Muggy roller, and finally got my Axial RR running right, and I dig this truck quite a bit..

After reading around, I did the 3 things that are apparently absolutely necessary to solve this truck's problems out of the box - ALL of which center on the clutch, as stock the truck is overgeared.. I have:

1.) 12T CB
2.) Fioroni clutch (not cheap, but for peace of mind, oh well...)
3.) smaller, lighter tires and wheels...

With this set-up I've been told I shouldn't have to think about the clutch for 2 gallons or more...

What other problems have you had? I dig this truck and am gonna eventch throw in a more powerful engine, and now that I have it going once I bash it a bit if it proves itself I might even eventch look into the innovative-RC chassis. That with some RPM arms should make this thing about as bullet-proof as a truggy can be......

I like the way they look too......

I couldnt agree more about the looks! Dang its sweet looking! Thats what sold me! lol I have had issues with the clutch and with radio signal too. I get about a range of 50 feet! Also it coughs up screws left and right that are on back order all the time. I guess its just irritating bc I dont have the time now to fix and tear it down like I did back in the days... I am 30 now and work alot so I want something with a lil less maint. I actually did have one other rc that wasnt a losi and it was a hpi savage. I had that thing for 4 years and never had to do anything accept typical A arm breaks and stuff like that. I sold it to buy this and now I am missing it. I love this truggy but I wish I could get it dialed in so it was more hassel free. Plus it doesn't help that the people here in COlorado arent as helpful at the tracks... I spent about 650 on this thing and they could care less to help me! What up with that! In Houston when I first got into this I practically had a pit crew from the first day! lol

That sounds pretty lame if they won't help you...

As for the radio, that sounds like something to send back for a warrantee replacement...

The clutch is THE notorious Muggy problem..

As for screws, yeah, unfortunately Losi uses screws made of butter... I learned my lessons on the LST2... Just be VERY careful with the screws - and get a dremel and learn how to hack out stripped screws...

And yeah, I'm a big time Savage fan - got an X SS - and it is nice how tough they are...

If you're losing loads of screws out the mug, then the best advise I got was from 2D, and that was to use "shoe goo" on all threads going into plastic.
It's a flexible adhesive so will hold the screws into place, but won't set solid and therefore won't be subject to vibrations cracking it.
