Although I really don't know to much about these truggy's I'll still ask the question. Are the lightning st and the vtx st both considered truggys like the jammin crt?

I would like to see everyone's list of the top five truggy's, If you have one let me know how they are in performance and durability, price on parts etc. RTR truggy's are fine although I know most kits are more pro level. Thanks.

They are all truggy's however the Muggy is a heavy weight. i belive the boxed version is over 30llbs. and the overall size is alot greater than its competitors..
If your looking for a Truggy to play with, the Muggy is a sure shot, but for the track your already the underdog, just with overall size/weight.
Not sure where Losi was going with that one.
I would have a look at the Mugen and the 8ight-T. These are race winners and really fun to drive.

I've seen the muggy at our local track and it looks clumsey heavy and slow. Every time it jumps it would end up on its lid or land with a big thud
I guess most people like them personally I don't just my opinion.

By rc pro series, a muggy is a truggy. You Might get by with running it in monster class at a club level race, but the 2 speed lst 2 will walk on it.
Yes, those are all truggy's. Glad you didnt ask what one was the best.

I have a Muggy and an LST2. The Muggy out handles the LST2 hands down, no comparison. The Muggy is heavy, but who said something about 30lbs??? WOW! No, it's more like 10.5-11 lbs after you get rid of the big stock tires and put some GRP Cubics on it, and drop a steering servo. It comes stock at 11.4 lbs. And I by no means think it's even close to the best truggy, but it really doesn't handle that bad, actually, it handles very well. It flies very well also. The Muggy might be closer to the Mammoth, but I'll agree, the Muggy isn't like all the other truggies you've mentioned.

I hate to ask this question but would like some ideas on a good rtr truggy to get for me and my son to mess around with. I would prefer something that is drill/spin start as I'm not fond of the pull start and don't currently have a starter box. I don't plan on seriously raceing but need a truggy tough enough to handle a track because we bash and play at local tracks. thanks in advance for the opinions.

The Muggy is a great truck if you can afford to spend another $200 on a upgraded clutch, vented 12t clutchbell, 17mm hub adapters, and smaller wheels/tires. If you're an eBayer you can sell the stock clutch, clutchbell, stock 20mm hubs, (but don't get rid of the 17mm hexes) and wheels/tires to help with upgrades. The Muggy is a tough truck. Like I've said before, it handles surprisingly well. My setup is mostly based off RCU member and LSTForums.com founder 2DMaxLST's, consisting of a Fioroni clutch, Sportwerks vented 12t clutchbell, HPI Hellfire 17mm hubs, and the preglued GRP Cubics. This setup is wonderful. I haven't had a truck yet that takes as much punishment as the Muggy. And I really enjoy running it. Just something to think about I suppose.
