I had the same problem with mine . I adjusted my end points on the throttle and brake and also took the last screw out of the battery box . The one your supposed to put o-rings on. I just leave it out and I havent burned another one out.

read the throttle addendum on Losi's website, follow it EXACTLY and your troubles should be over.
I have gone through several sets of o-rings, and just leave the screw a little loose. There are several theories about what the real problem is (heat, vibration, EPAs). I believe it is the End Point Adjustments, and it seems more and more people are thinking the same thing. Your servo wants to move further than the carb and the brakes will allow it, there for you have to set your radio, not to allow the servo to travel so far; EPA. When you read the addendum, it will explain how to leave adjust both.

It is my opinion, that the major issue is the EPA settings.
A chassis stiffner couldn't hurt. Though I know many racers do not like all aluminum stiffners on bumpy tracks, because they feel a car that is too rigid doesn't handle as well. Take that money and put it towards a nice steering servo, or some extra clutch shoes.
