That is why I bought the monsoon because I think it looked cool and was different and I have been very happy with it.

mainly traxx, but spending $400 on my first nitro truck is just stupid...
Ok well its only $289 -$25 with coupon + $25 for shipping. That is not $400. That is $289 xD

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/17281

It is the best selling truck at A-main I will tell you that

Actually shipping is free for item's over $100! So it's only $264 SHIPPED. Just add your glow ignitor and fuel bottle. For now just run AA's.

@ robbiesmechanic

I would go with the ST-1 Because I have one and it is a great value. I would suggest you look at the forums there are threads on both vehicles. Then decide what best suits you. If you are happy with your decision that's all that matters. If your lhs is going to help you with a redcat then by all means go for it. However I would strongly suggest the TTR ST-1.

If your LHS carries Redcat parts, go for it. Thats the biggest problem I had with them, there was no local support for Redcat and had to order parts online every time something broke.

Twomanytoys, I bought the tornado and volcano for my kids. You may be right, the 1/8th scales are probably better than the 1/10th scales. After buying the two that I did, and having as many problems as I did, it just made me want to steer away from Redcat. To each their own. I have read several posts about people having great luck with their Redcats. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of them.

Might want to check out this truck.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/18595

I heard it a pretty good truck especially for the price. Also read the review here.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=904

Just pickup a glow ignitor and fuel bottle

I still suggest the ST-1 RTR. You get a much better vehicle in the long run durability wise, handling wise, and speed wise. It is also overall ALOT larger. MG16 has free shipping as well as the ST-1 RTR. Anything over $100 has free shipping on A-Main.

I compromised for my first RC and got a CEN MT2 Funfactor and in hindsight should have spent a little more in the first place and got something better...I would highly recommend you go straight to the ST1 (or another Truggy but the ST1 just seems a bloomin good deal...I would have one tomorrow if I could get parts in NZ for it...)
In every aspect a Truggy will do better than a 1/10 MT...it will handle better, last longer and be easier to work on...period. GET ONE!
