What do you guys think of this truggy? I have read about this truggy on some other forums and it seems like a really good truggy and cool looking. Only problems I have read about it are some diff problems but said they were solved by shimming them correctly as soon as you get it out of the box or when building the Pro kit. Price is unreal for the RTR. I found it for 245.00 plus shipping for a RTR. Here is a link to there site so you guys can check it out.

I posted these videos a couple weeks ago. The yellow truck is my XT8, the white truck is the Caster racing truck, both have Jammin Super Big bore shocks installed.
The Caster has some very nice steering!! I would prefer that is comes with a wider spur gear.

That is what I thought you meant. I did get some dirt jumps put in and a set of whoops and it is alot more fun. Do not now if you saw that video. It has my ST-RR running instead of the Hyper ST Pro.
For some reason I cannot play the videos??

Well I think I am going to buy one. I have spoke to a rep for them in the US and got alot of info on the truck from Truggyracers.com and they have been very helpful and replied very fast to all my questions. I also found some AWESOME pics of it and it is designed very close to a Mugen and everyone says it is better than a mugen. I found the Pro team kit for 300 plus shipping. It comes 80% assembled and includes all the aluminum upgrades the pro's run. Here is a link to all the pics

The Pro kit, brand new, is at least 70% of the quality of the Mugen, it's worth a look, I would buy it before some of the low $$ stuff that is eating up this forum....
I drive a Xray.

They buy a caster prodcut then use mugen parts on it becusee they cant find caster parts and mugen parts are better, just like the owners of RD logic, OCM, and several others

It is not that they cannot find the caster parts, its just that they have to order them from teamcasterracing.com who has all the parts needed to repair anything for it and then wait for shipping when the mugen parts are more readily available at some LHS and can get them for the weekend to race if something does happen to break. I have also heard that Caster is one of the companies the mugen sources out some of their parts for manufacturing like a-arms and stuff, not sure if it is true but read about it in a couple of places and also caster manufactures some other plastic pieces for other manufacturers.
Just ordered my K8T Pro Team edition this morning!! Cannot wait to see it in person!

its really funny how people judge a book by its cover or before even giving anything else a fair shot... I hear lots of bad reviews and lots of trash talk about Redcats, this guy has a Kyosho ST RR, Hyper ST Pro and what is this? a Redcat?...... Ive seen em all run and Id have to say his redcat is a beast!! would I buy one? probably not. does that make it bad?.... from what I have seen... no. do the research then trash talk if you dont like it. meet one on a track one day and get smoked by it and that may change your mind about it. this reply isnt just directed at just you Crazy, there are alot of people out there that judge things too early.

People need to learn to look outside the box. People that dont have personal experience on a product dont have a right to give an opinion on them. VNMSGT has a redcat so I dont think he is afraid to try something for himself to see if it is good or not. I have name brands and also redcats and have had great luck with them. Would I buy another redcat? Yes! Would I buy another Traxxas? probably not! I have had sooo many problems with my Tmaxx that it turned me away from traxxas. I gave Redcat a chance because I did my research. How do you think Hotbodies, xtm and some other small companies got so popular. They had to start from the bottom just like redcat and castor are doing now.

You would be surprised what a good driver can do! Not saying I am but any truggy can basically be set up to be awesome on the track with enough time, mods, tuning, upgrades etc. Now comparing out of the box, then NO the redcat cannot compete but like most truggies out there besides a very few, they all need upgrades and tuning to be any good.

Here we go again. Let the bashing begin. And what makes you think the Monsoon would not be able to compete? Just because its a cheaper truggy. Well then I guess I cant compete with my TTR ST1 because I paid less than 300 for it. You think a $600 truck is going to win all the races over a $300 truggy. I dont think so. Its 70% driver and 30% truck. I can run my $300 TTr with any of the high dollar truggies. Money dont make you better.

Everyone has a opinion. This always happens till a company starts doing well and gets its name out there. Redcat does not have near the same amount of haters as about 6 months ago. Once they hear about something for awhile then people tend to accept it. What most people think is that a company will not make it and disappear and never get parts again for them so they will have no support. Most just do not want to take that chance, yes sometimes you get screwed and sometimes you do not. I got some old R/C mags where himoto used to advertise alot and looked to be going somewhere but since they have not made and advances in improving there product any good like redcat has now you do not see himoto hardly anywhere at all. Redcat does not even advertise 1 cent in any mag or publication besides here and they are doing very well considering and make improvements to there product as issues seem to come up.

Help!! can anyone help me out with getting my caster truggy to go around corners? i have tried stronger servos, diff oils, toe in, toe out, tyres, shocks, springs, bump stop height, servo saver! the only way it wants to go round a corner is if you slam the brakes on if your at speed, causing it to wildy flick around or just idle around the corner. i am sick to death of getting my ass kicked by my mate and his tmaxx. i have also had a bloke come up to me in my local hobbie shop and asked me if mine steered ok, which i told him no and he said his was the same. great in a straight line but don't think about trying to take a corner, cause you just end smashing into something with major under steer. as i have just noticed that this is an opinions page, here is my opinion, i have had no problems with the running gear, front suspension falls apart with super glue the answer to holding the upper hing pins in. brakes are good, steering is garbage, the little peices of plastic they say are toe in adjusters can't handle jumping and get squashed, any screw that goes into plastic just strips no matter how careful you are. i am actually thinking of burning it and getting a losi muggy.
