Default Xmod truck --->truggy (conversion)

has anybody tried doing a "truck --->truggy" conversion on an xmod truck?
i was thinkin' bout making custom suspension bits with brass tube and ball pivots.
reason why is my friend has a truggy track where his paintball feild used to be, so i want to drive on it(but with a truck, i'd be flippin' all over the place and i don't have money to spend buying a whole other rc)

i'm worried about this:
"hey i got a custom truggy"
3 min into my test drive around the track---> "NOOOO my suspension joints broke off!"

if anyone has suggestions, please tell me

lol giaz. that would be sweet if it didn't melt the plastic

and i've already said, i just want a truggy without spending another 200 dollars. doesn't matter how small or how slow, i'll be lithiuming it, and giving it neo motor magnets
if i have som extra money, maybe i'll buy a few aluminum parts.

I have a Real flight G3.5 (which is a RC flight simulator) and it has turbine jets and its fun to take one of those jets (which is like 15lb) and turn the lb of thrust from 20lb to 220lb the jet gets to about 350MPH - 400MPH and the wings break off and then you have a 300+MPH torpedo, but it can't be controld[&o]

we should make a BB crt.5 put a AB modded P9R evo2 in it and that thing would FLY and put wings on it, then it would really fly

@ Integra

Found a couple of 1/5th scales, looks like a really cool idea. But I wouldnt wanna be starting it lol.

I havent managed to find an 1/8th scale.

Imagine a TT ST1 with a turbine bolted to it along with the engine lol.

@ JB

If you dont find your comp. tomorrow morning, its with me

I really have to get a Real Flight thingy.

I wanna start flying. Just scared ill smack it into the ground before I even get it up lol.

you can send me an e-mail or PM and I'll give you more info or some screen shots of mine.

Ill definately get it.

But not right now, saving up $$$ for a new truck and engine.

Ive tried flying helis, I dont know how I did it, I destroyed the rotors like 3 cm over the ground, I tilted it and whack, there went the rotors.

Ive tried the real flight at the LHS, it comes with that black controller with that big red button to reset when you crash right.?

Sorry mods, off topic.

well anyways, i don't really care about how fast or slow it is. it just has to be off road capable.
it won't take $200 dollars to make the thing.
and just cuz it's 1/28 doesn't mean it's limited to 10 mph. 15 mph after i neo and rewind my motor

just anything that would help me with the design of the thing

i agree with integra why waist your money on a pos ratshack car? buy a roller truggy or somthin on ebay, i got a roller crt for 150 but later put 850 into it to be a trophy winner

put what?! 850 what? dollars?
i'm lookin to spend just some money to have a truggy i can drive indoors and outdoors and still have fun and not worry so much about savin' money for it.
150 for a roller chassis might be a good deal, but i can't afford to buy elec after that.

so what if its a pos ratshack car? i've already spent money on one, why not upgrade it or do custom work? i only have so much space in my house.

just give me some help here. like, help that i can actually do something with
i dont care if you think i'm a retard, i can't get away with buying another rc to add to my 4 already(parents won't allow anymore)

if you want something to run inside and out, then look at either the miniT or a mini LST, you could pick one up used for under $150 probably.

JB: He said he wanted to make the conversion on the car he already has.

2WD: It just ain't gonna happen not with the set-up x-mods have. Even if you did get it to work, the engine doesn't have any torque. As JB metioned above, look into mini's.

ok to help with what you got. what kind of mod is it? evo or standard, truck or car. your going to have to make some custom arms out of plexi glass or somthing to get grond cleance and stability. find a way to run a lipo set up. and make shur the esc can handle it, and find your self some bigger tires and cut them up to look racy. thats what i can think of to make an xmod into a truggy .

it's an x-truck
no torque?!?! dude, with neodymiun magnets and a basic bb motor, there's gonna be torque
i've already spent money on my existing truck, so i'm not going to abandon it.
my parents are gettin me li-po for both my xmods when i finish my math club worksheet.
i've stacked the mosfets already on this truck, and i have a v2.2 on my other xmod
wheels...i don't have a clue where i'd get them. maybe a model kit or the "off road upgrade" from ratshack

i'm thinkin brass, copper, or aluminum custom suspension arms. and moving the wheel position an inch wider on each side

thanks Savage man. maybe plexiglass might be a better material...

aluminum might be hard to work with if you dont have a milling machine on site.
and 2wddrifter you can probally find a nice set in an old model some where or an up grade kit for a mini z offroader

actually SaVaGe MaN SS.....most allum is 6061 which is easily worked by almost any tool....heck as long as u can make the rough cut out....u could use a Hacksaw for all i care.....a bandsaw works...but if u dont have a speed setting or a proper blade it wont work for very long......but ya i used to make all sorts of stuff outta stock sheet alluminum...in all thickness's.....i just went to a local metal shop and asked for some scraps....voila parts in Very rough form.[sm=teeth_smile.gif]

Inno on the right....mine on the left..

Same deal with the CF....but a little more involved.

i use a cnc milling machine and a lathe. im just saying its probally going to be quite difficult for a young kid to come by those sort of machines, i know mine wernt cheap i paid almost $17,000 for mine, and i used to use a band saw but the cnc became much more easy of a job.
