Whats all about weight...going fast???....its all about your engine, and the way it handles, and most of all the way you drive...its def not all about weight...sure you dont want a pig heavy Truggy, but going for the lightest one isnt the way to decide which Truggy to get, its just one of the many factors to consider.
And as for finding out the different weights, just go to a few websites that have the information you require...AMain is a good one, they stock a lot of Truggies and the specs are all there...

I hate to say it but that is an idiotic comment if I've ever heard one. Ever heard of power to weight ratio?? What good is a car with xxxHP and its as light as a feather??? The car will have no traction and most likely be all over the place. The Losi 8ight-t is one of the lightest if not the lightest.

Weight is actually a huge part of racing..the lighter the Truggy the better...handles better, brakes easier , jumps easier, accelerates easier. uses less fuel .
Honestly I highly doupt a track ready ST-1 is anywhere near as light as a 8T... claimed weight is one thing actual weight is sometimes something completely different , i want to see a track ready ST -1 on a scale before i believe its that light.....

I've only had the opportunity to compare a Kyosho ST, an Xray XT8, a Jammin CRT and a Mugen MBX5T, and only by feel, so this is not conclusive. They all had .21 engines of different brands, except the XT8 which had an RB TM928. The XT8 and Mugen felt the lightest, with maybe the edge to the XT8 (but that could have been my imagination, cos the XT8 was mine!!), even with the .28. The stock wheels and tires on the XT8 are very light, and the chassis braces are (quite deliberately) composite plastic, so maybe that's what gives it the edge. It's difficult to get anything out of this thread without someone weighing them all stock with the same engine and servos in them. Xray vehicles are always light though, so the XT8 would be a good bet.

Supertib,
That is actual weight. I have weighed mine after all my mods. It weighs just over 8.5 lbs. Thats where I got my number. I will put it on a scale and take a pic just to show people. Its not a heavy truck at all. I was very surprised. I figured it would weigh at least 9-9.5 lbs.

Makes sense,
I've seen people put weights on their 8ights.. but i guess if you have 1/2 a pound to work with you could balance the truck however you wanted

Isnt the Mugen Truggy also really light.?
Not sure..
Also dosent the reciever batteries affect the weight.?
I mean like wouldnt a hump pack be lighter than normal AA's.?

AA batteries do not run 1.5v
they run 1.2v
Thats why 4 AAs are considered 4volts
Even 6v hump backs don't truly run 6v
more like 5-6volts
