Finally Done xD
My Nitrage is finally done
1 month of nothing but constant work on her and shes ready
I had done quite a lot of stupid things when it was new, I had no idea what I was doing.
Just got the brakes set correctely, new gears + clutch, JP 4 PROPERLY Installed.
Last time I Installed it, I did it wrong and my engine was loosing compression like crazy.
I used a hex wrench this time and it worked.
Also spent an hour organizing my tool box, and its all ready for the track now
I have spares for everything, like what ever breaks, I can fix it, except the gearbox + engine.
Carry 2 extra servos with me also lol.
I love the way my mom gave me the steering plate I ordered, right after I finished everything. I dont have the energy to put it on now.
Lemme know what everyone thinks of it.
Thanks.

RE: Finally Done xD
This is how I had installed it before, notice the hanger was scuffing the fuel tank like crazy, so to stop that I used double sided tape lol..
And also notice the angle the exhaust is at, at the bottom, where the exhaust meets the manifod with the rubber thingy ( Called a Coupler I think ), there was a 1mm gap [X(]
All fixed now, because of that gap my engine was running too hot I think, we'll find out tomorrow
Probably gonna hit the track in the afternoon.
Also refilled the diffs + shocks.
Cant wait to take it for a run now.!

RE: Finally Done xD
Thanks, yeah im looking for some nice chrome rims, strictly for bashing.
I just got these tyres, they're alright, waiting for Prolines to come into stock @ the LHS, will get those when they come.
I just painted the wheels to go with my chassis, its pink, but its a matte effect, when I tried it on the wheels, it looked horrible, so I did a enamal pearl white topped off with a slight maroon. Came out red instead of Pink lol.
I also eliminated ALL cable ties from it
Everything looks like a Pro did it
Well my dad was overlooking what I was doing most of the time lol, he was the one to point out that I had done my exhaust wrong.
Cant wait to run it.!!

@ Slayer
Any pics I take now will be useless, its around 11 in the night, and I dont like using flash, distorts the image.
First thing tomorrow morning ill get some good pics up.
Yeah thats a tranny case, it houses the center diff in there too.
@ joel
Lol they never break
Heres another VERY good pipe, Dynamite Platinum 007HT
Guys on another forum say that its as good if not better than the JP 4.

Although I only ran the first qualifying heat with the Nitrage, I was able to arrive at several confident conclusions. The Nitrage is in desperate need of additional steering throw. The front wheels’ steering angles appear to be about two-thirds that of most other truggies. As a result, I had to practically come to a halt in order to negotiate some of the track’s tighter turns. The Nitrage gripped the track very well, which made it harder to slide the rear wheels through the turns to expedite rotation. The FR-32X engine really likes the Dynamite 007HT pipe, and this combination proved more than formidable against even the high-performance .21 engines used by some of the competition. If your track allows the .32 engine (the maximum ROAR-legal displacement for this class is .28 cu. in.), you won’t need to upgrade. Towards the end of the five-minute qualifying race I noticed a distinct loss of brakes and a tendency for the throttle to react slowly—the results of a blown servo. Despite this setback, I finished the race in 10 laps, 28 seconds, which was good enough for sixth-spot in the A-main—not bad considering there were four full heats of truggies.
As I wrote in my review of the Nitrage in the July 2007 issue, this truck has the potential to be a serious contender at the club level and beyond. Before fulfilling this promise, however, several issues should be addressed. First is the brakes, which is a matter of a simple install of an inexpensive aftermarket hop-up. Next is the steering. More throw is desperately needed—Tamiya’s forthcoming universal driveshafts should help—as is a stronger servo-saver spring. I would prefer to see an archetypal 1/8-scale style bellcrank setup with an integrated servo-saver. I have not experienced another transmission failure since the original test, so I remain upbeat on the prognosis for this particular ailment. It is possible also that the original run of Nitrages may have had bad gears, as I've heard from other owners that newer trucks, and those with newer replacement gears, haven't experienced any problems. Make certain the center diff isn’t allowed to overheat and the gearbox should hold up well.

RE: Finally Done xD
Honest Opinion.
Too much low end.
Its in desperate need of a high end pipe if you want the best preformance. Hence the JP 4
If your slipper clutch is not set correctly, all it'll do is spin its tyres off the wheels.
It does rev quite high, but does suffer, am looking into replacing it for something with a lil' bit less low end and a lil' bit more high end.

Likewise, and I certainly did not mean to insult you, I have just seen several times teh very thing I am trying to avoid on here, that incorrect information was given because it was hearsay, and people had some really, really bad things happen as a result. I know you mean well, and I appreciate your ardor for our hobby. I hope you understand my points, qaiz. [8D]

I actually appericiate that you got my name right more than anything lol. Im tired of people calling me 'gaiz'!.
No worries, I kind of had the same problem, asked people how the Nitrage was, not one had driven it, and all said it was
, tho still got it anyways, and I love it.

The Nitrage has always interested me, I am just a bit scared of its parts availability, but it has some great and innovative engineering.
Have you got any pictures of teh local tracks there in Dubai?

RE: Finally Done xD
Lol there is 1 track.
Which as of last week was under water
Ill get some pics up when I go tomorrow. The only pic I have of it was when it was under water.
The thing with the Nitrage is they've really done it well, a bit too well.
The enclosed gearbox + diff is fablous, no dirt gets in there, and the casing protects them.
On the other hand, its kind of a pain to open up the entire thing and check your gear/refill the diffs.
Luckily Tamiya is absoloutely HUGE here, so parts avaliab. is not really a problem

@ Joel
Do this.
Get cling wrap. and wrap the blue shock head, I dont know how this does it, but it becomes soooooo much smoother if thats done.
Lol sandstorm in shocks, how'd you come up with that one.
Try and see if you can get the SPRINGS off a TNX, they fit perfectly, and they're harder than the stock ones.
If you would like, Id be able to send you a set (4), you pay shipping, I have 2 sets ( 8 ) as spares.
You cant really make it out in the pics, but in the first 2, look at the rear wheel, the yellow spring is what im talking about.
Theyre extremely cheap, should cost you around 2 - 3 Pounds.

@ IL
Ill get good pics up tomorrow, it has to have dried out by now, its been over a week.
The thing here the sand gets extremely dry and fine, so it becomes hard to run, and also they never maintain the track.
I have some cleaning up to do there tomorrow. Its been messy for over 6 months and no one has bothered to clean it up.
@ joel
Yeah I know that song.
If you have the $$$, try and get the sway bar kit, really really helps the handling. The springs are really cheap.
I would not recommend a 2 speed, quite unneccessary for off road (IMO). And replaces the center diff.

@ Banned.
Definately. We have to. With my Nitrage . For Pink Slips...
@ Joel
THE SPRINGS FOR 20 POUNDS..!?
They shoud cost something like 5 pounds for 4.!
Try and find a decent exhaust if the springs are not possible...
