Default RC Beginner, What Truggy in my price range?

I usually deeply research hobbies I want to get into, but this time i just want to jump into it, there are so many manufacturers and im sure a lot of them are junk. Im pretty sure I want a gas powered truggy. I live in a remote area and have a lot of space to drive it, and that's as far as it will go, around here for fun. What trucks are there in the $200-300ish range that are well built/fast? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

clearly the obvious choice for you is the thunder tiger st-1 although everyone else will probably tell you to get the mugne pro spec kit or losi 8t roller cause they are apparently SOOOOO much better in every single way.. [/end sarcasm]

Redcat Monsoon, Thunder Tiger ST-1 or the Hotbodies Lightning Stadium 1/8. All can be had for under 300 shipped.

You could buy a used CRT roller kit and always upgrade it. Should only come out to like $120 for the roller.

This one with the BCE chassis only went to $100.

You could have said that in the first place.

There is no need to go off abusing and using profanity at the first chance you get.

And where did he incinuate that the ST 1 is horrible.?

Hey, didnt mean to start anything! Anyways, i've been checking out those trucks and i've got to say im impressed that you can get trucks for 200-300 that perform like that. One more question, how much fuel do these trucks use setup stock? How long will they run on one tank? Thanks again

Seems to me their are quite a few ST1 owners that do have chips on their shoulders..I would not buy one just for the reason they dont handle blown out tracks very well..oh and I have driven one and this is where I came up with "that" conclusion. But for the money..

I just think people get sick and tired of hearing ST-1, ST-1, ST-1 all day long even if someone posts they have 2k to spend on a truggy and will race it professionally, people still say get a ST-1 best truck out there. I think that is the reason for people hating it. It's like a broken record sometimes. LOL! Nothing against the ST-1 lovers, just what I think.
