If you could have any engine you wanted, no matter the cost, what would it be? I am looking for an engine for the strr.

I got to watch Lutz drive in person at the Psycho Nitro race in Atlanta. He is unreal. That engine is the one I am leaning towards. Its just when you go into a hobby shop they are going to push what they sale and that might not be the best enine I can get.

I would say each of these motors has their own characteristics and attributes both good and bad...
Sirio CL7B is a motor with a very smooth powerband and a very strong midrange.... It has a softer bottom end which makes it very easy to drive, it carries very good trigger feel in the midrange and pulls hard to a respectable top end.....This motor is suited more to someone who doesn't like alot of bottom end power, as this motor will feel a little laggy at low RPM's, so it will suit a smoother rolling drivng style, this is not a point and shoot motor ..... In kyosho STRR which carries very good corner speed this motor will do very well, as its midrange pull is among the best i've felt from a .21.... Tuning is very easy on this motor as well, it starts instantly and idles very well...
Picco 28/JPX 28........ This is not a smooth motor, it hits very hard in the low end and pulls hard across the whole RPM range... This motor carries tremendous trigger hit across the whole RPM range...This motor is well suited to heavy truggies or someone who has a point and shoot driving style.... These motors are not the best on fuel, with an average of 7 minutes per tank...These motors also need a little carb sealing to work 100%.... They can be picky to tune if there is any airleaks or inconsistencies with the fuel supply.... But overall the JPX 28 is a fine motor...
Picco 21/JPX 21 This motor is very similar in feel to the JPX 28, just not quite as violent.... For a .21 these motors can hit extremely hard in the low end , they have instant trigger feel and spool up very rapidly..They also scream like a **** on top end.. The JPX .21 will outrun the JPX 28 if given a little room, but these buggers will usually outrun pretty much everything on top end so thats to be expected..... These are my personal favorite engine, as they feel more like a .28 then a .21 as they hit extremely hard when they come onto power... for my track conditions and driving style these motors rock..... If you are a point and shoot driver and want instant hard hitting power these are the best motors I have found...... They are definitely not the smoothest easiest to drive .21's, but they idle awesome and get great mileage..... For anyone who runs a .28 and is scared a .21 wont have enough snap should look into these Picco's before any other .21...... For someone who drives in low traction and likes a smooth motor these Picco's are likely not the best choice.........

I run a Novarossi Plus 21-7BT in my ST-RR and on the tracks that I race on it has more than enough HP..brutally fast, great bottom end..very usable power..cant ask for much more..10 minutes on a tank also.
