Default I Got Issues.

My clutch bell keeps "locking up" on my motor after a tank, or sometime during that tank. I've tried several different shim setups, but none are working. I have a 14t Ho Bao on a OFNA Force .28. The bearings are good. I'd throw new ones in there if they were bad, and when i take it apart to troubleshoot/clean everything seems fine. Upon putting it back together with at first 2 shims in front of bell, worked fine, ran a tank, locked up. Then 1 shim up front, spins nicely, ran a tank, locked up. No shim, spins freely, ran a tank, locked up. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.

Your clutch shoes could be mushrooming, and won't reset to the resting postion.

Make sure the bell isnt to tight against the spur. Should have just a bit of lash between the two.

Check your Flywheel nut isn't coming loose and throwing things forward too.

My guess is your clutch bell is to tight, you need some play, the clutch shoes mushrooming would not do what your explaining..you are running the washers under the clutch shoes..right.. It sounds like as soon as the temp comes up your "locking" up..check your end play on your clutch bell..remember when your clutch bell heats up it will expand some..if your tight when it's cold (still spins but with no play) as soon as you get heat into the bell it will lock up.

Well, all metals aren't created equal. How does the material rank that Ho Bao or OFNA uses for thier bells?

I sometimes have it lock up but mainly the opposite, the screw loosens and clutch bell loosens. Ive tried threadlock, plumbers tape, different screws. After 5 minutes run time its way loose.

Loc-tite on the screw is a bad idea, IMO.

TRACKER>>>> You need .3-.5mm clearance for expansion, or you will continue to have these problems.

I try to give it about twice the clearance you would set your mesh at, if you understand what I mean.
