heh well you in the truggy section but if you want to be competitive you will need a revo a nice engine (maybe a modded TRX 3.3) good radio, servo's tires, wheels, and some other odds and ends for both trucks.., go ask by the MT forum...

I disagree, MT setup for racing do not suck on the track, Tmaxx does though, I got out RC racing for 2 years after owning several Tmaxxes.

Take all that money you will be spending on your T Maxx and buy a TRUGGY. I promise you will be happier.

MT class is the gateway to racing, people who ignore this fact end up with weak overall racing programs, I've been seeing it happen.

our track was 1/2 and 1/2 when it first opened.....the main track guys ran buggy's....and all the n00bs ran savage's.....then we moved on to truggy's and the MT class fell off.....the new guys that show up with MT's realize pretty fast that the MT's are pretty incapable compared to the bug/trug's....so we just never have the turnout to have a big MT class.....sure on our Big race days...but regular old club races...Never.

I would have to agree the t-maxx in no racer, i own 2 of them and they have no where near the turning needed, they are heavy and under powered for a track,i bought a crt ,let the wife drive the t-maxx for a while then just bought her a crt, she now enjoy's going to the track because she can actually turn the thing around a track

I run a strr and a revo, strr spanks the revo but the revo is top class in monster class. I built my revo from ebay sales and spent half the price the platinum revo cost. Only thing it need to be the platinum series is the sway bar kit.
The Tmaxx and savage arnt much for racing, those are bashers. Revo is your race monster.
If your looking for a good engine, sirio has a monter engine at a decent price, a-main had them under $200, or a RB .23 5 or 7 port is a screamer.
Monsters are good to learn on, my 10 year old ran the revo last year and moved to buggy class this year. Bash the maxx and race a revo if your wanting to race in monster class.

The LST also makes a great racer. It your only experience is with Tmaxx and Savages (though I know 3 local that race well but they take a lot of work) then I can see the opinion that MT racing is bad.

Gas truck is the gateway to racing in my opinion.

Excellent point, most of the throttle junkies who can't wheel SMT would be much better all around racers if they started with GT.
