good news, the motor survived the filter falling off in warm-up. ran flawless the whole day in the 220's. i think the pipe is bottom end pipe tho, will be doing some testing soon.

Does it have an updated carb or is it the same carb from the regular Go engines? They are great engines with suspect carbs.

i've never had problems with the go's. i did not touch the lsn needle at all (flush) i just adjusted the idle stop up about 1/4 turn and just use the hsn. looking at my older 3 port the needles are way different so i assume it is the new carb.

I do not believe in the carb issue at all. Just have to tune it slightly different sometimes. JBlaze you had the old carb for the longest time and no problems. I still have a old carb on my 7-port, no problems and 4 others where I am at have the old carbs. We checked them just to see, but no problems so why change them. Some people use that as an excuse to to there running problems. Some may have a legitimate problem, who knows.

RE: ***NEW*** Caster Grenade MKII 215t Racing motor
only problem i had with the 3 port was the falling off head fins and the cracked case. i screwed all the needles up trying to get a tune before i found the crack along the side of the case. so now i have all the go internals and carb in one of my old sts cases, the one that broke a new crank. so it looks like an sts but screams like a go. the grenade is good tho, the pinch is not as bad as i thought, warm pinch and cold pinch are different tho.

Any updated on this engine?? I might be in the market for a sub-€200 race engine for my buggy AND truggy...(would have dual duties probably..)

Would this engine qualify as a "powerhouse" at all??.. I mean, compare it to say a VSPEC in terms of power...
Also, where could I get one for the best price?? Even in the US - if it can't be shipped to Germany, it could be shipped to a relative who would then ship it to me...

Well..... Just ordered one... Hope it works out....
The Go 5-port box comes with a 2047 pipe. Is that the one to get for this too?
I currently have a Muggy pipe, 053, 086, 2063, JP-2, and some weird STS thing...

not really, grenades are used to kill the opposition. in racing it means beating, or being faster than. the grenade does that. name fits. whatever its called i like it a lot.
i thought of some worse names for the motor:
"the clink" for when the connecting rod snaps mid straight away.
"the burrrrrrrr" for when the crank snapped and the starter box can't turn it over.
"the backfire", "the turtle", "the snail", "the v8" cause it sucks up so much fuel.

well if it's anything like a go 5 once broken in it's pretty powerful won't say it's faster than my spec but the bottom is equal to or better than a spec and it can keep up with any of those $400 mills... can't wait to get mine in

Not sure what fantasy land you guys are in, but 'grenade' when refering to engines usually means a rod has come through the block, or worse. However, I would agree there are worse names, and that Go does make some nice engines.
