RE: long wait is over!
I am just about finished with my build of a new CRT and am using an OS30 with a pull start. I had to shim the stock motor mount to allow for the pull start to fit. Hope to run it this weekend.

RE: long wait is over!
i seen an OS 30 in a savage and was scared of it! i cant imagine how it will preform in a truck 3+ pounds lighter!

RE: long wait is over!
how thick is the shim you used? i have some 2mm aluminum sheets. im planing to just cut two small plates and put it on top of the stock mount, you think thats enough?

RE: long wait is over!
yah i have it on my savage right now and my rear bumper is now broken coz of the wheelies!:D the hpi wheelie bar doesnt realy help much on grass or dirt, it still flips over.

RE: long wait is over!
why did you get the pull start one? you know they make one with the starterbox backplate
|
RE: long wait is over!
i dont have a bump start when i got my os. it was originally for my savage, then i decided to buy a crt. i will order a starter box and convert my os later. that back plate shouldnt be expensive

RE: long wait is over!
I will measure one of the washers I used, but I'm sure they are not even that thick. Probably more like 1mm. It is very close to fitting without shimming.
I was in the same situation, I dont currently own a starter box and will convert at a later date. It is my understanding that the back plate is only a few dollars but there is some modifications needed to the crankshaft. |

RE: long wait is over!
the best way to grind that would be to put the shaft into a ziplock bag poke the part that needs the grinding and grind away that way no grinding fileings make it onto the shaft and inside the shaft and keeps it smooth as a baby's but!!

RE: long wait is over!
Miswa,
I measured one of the washers I used to shim my os30. It measured at 0.78mm. |
