Well just bash it, if something breaks, have a hunt around for a better upgrade for it, or just buy 3x as many spare parts for the broken bit.
Generally they are pretty tough.

i have a savage and so far the only parts that broke was the diff and the antenna got chopped off.... i dont expect it to be this good i just dont want to repair it once a month. i dont bash the h*ll out of my trucks but they do take the cartwheels sometimes.

The Hellfire should be a lot more durable than the Savage.

I agree. It's a total myth that Monster Trucks are the most durable cars (perpetuated by Monster Truck owners who have never owned anything else). Even the Hellfire, which is not the most durable truggy, is no doubt stronger than the savage. My Xray truggy makes my Savage look like it's made of chocolate.

I have both of these trucks and they're tough for sure. The front diff on the Savage is a pain!...The shock towers and PLASTIC braces for them on the RTR Hellfire need to be replaced, one good hit and they're gone.I also broke the steering servo gears, then upgraded to metal gears. For spares get some A arms & dogbones.Might want to check the diff housings, mine were dry,no grease on the gears. Here's a front skid plate:[link]http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi?session_id=&part_id=2981[/link] ,they also have a small rollbar. The large HPI wing will help take some abuse from bad landings,I put one on when the one on the body gave it up.I also geared up w/a 16 tooth bell.

I still think the Savage has it in overall toughness, but can be a handful when driving on the edge. The Hellfire is WAY easier to drive.

RE: hellfire

The ones that go from the shock towers to the upper deck. There's also one between the upper & lower deck that goes from the center diff to the front. Here ya go:

Hit up eBay and search each one of those part numbers for the braces. You'll get them off there hella more cheap.
