Looking for some Advice..
OK, this is kind of a "X or Y??" thread, but I've got some specifics..
Basically, I think I've decided I want a pure truggy to go along with my LST2, Muggy, and Savage. I really kind of want a Losi 8T Race Roller - here €436 including shipping. I recently ordered a Picco 28(ps) and JP-3, so I'd need a receiver and some servos(€100).. So, the Losi would cost basically €550 to get going... Would also like to have a Mugen, but they're to pricey, and I don't know about parts here in Germany... BUT, I just found a shop here in Germany selling the RTR ST-1 for a great price - €349 including shipping.. For Germany that price is just nuts... It's VERY VERY tempting.. If I decide I don't like it, I can sell it... So this thread is basically a Losi 8T vs. TT ST-1?? kind of question.. I only bash BTW.. Also, I am currently breaking in a new LRP Spec 3 in my Muggy, which for my taste just wasn't fast enough with the Axial 28RR.. IF the Muggy with the LRP is WAY faster and raises the fun factor significantly, then I guess I don't really need a truggy... But vids I've seen of the 8T, and what I've heard about how fast it is, are very convincing... Unfortunately, there aren't any cool offroad places to drive here, so most of my time is spent on more or less flat surfaces.... I've become something of a WOT - junkie... So speed is key..... |
RE: Looking for some Advice..
buy yourself the 8ight T and put the 19T option clutch bell off of the 8ight B on it with a good .28, will get you going very fast, and you can go with a 46t spur instead of the 48 thats stock if you want to go faster again.

RE: Looking for some Advice..
too bad your getting the MT Picco 28...your going to notice it may not have the top end of the Spec 3.... Picco has the timing different between the FTT and regulr Picco 28...since your pullstart you get the regulr P3 28, which 2D LST says is a little weak on top end next to the Speck 3..... Its too bad your not bumpstart as it really opens up the engines performance and gives you selection of much higher output engines....

RE: Looking for some Advice..
Well, today the LRP in the Muggy MASSIVELY impressed me.. Was twice an Axial RR.. So if it holds out and delivers this kind of performance for 3 gallons, it'll be my engine of choice for the time being anyway..
The Picco would be for the LST2(with +2 pinions..), and if I hear again that it lacks top end I'll sell it here for a profit and buy another LRP... I'm too heavily invested in MT's right now, so I'm not willing to spend 100 bucks or whatever for a starter-box for the Muggy only... |
RE: Looking for some Advice..
if your bashing put the optional two speed in the ST-1 and it will Fly no kidding, checkout the ST-1 thread too, its a very nice Durable tough Trug you wont regret it.

RE: Looking for some Advice..
on the real dude. If you arent racing then go with the 8T. The TTR ST-1 is cheap price but not cheap built. Replacement parts are cheaper and its just tough as nails. Start comparing prices on parts and youll see.
TTR: chassis -$32 diffs - $23 (complete w/ housing) shocks - $22 (shock bodies only for the 8t or $22) the list goes on man. the 8t RTR is the best overall package at $650 but the TTR ST-1 is the best bang for the buck. if you're on a budget and dont want to sacrifice performance/quality/etc. then the TTR ST-1 is the answer. if you the most well-equipped RTR and not on a budget then the 8ight-T RTR is the one. |
RE: Looking for some Advice..
The LRP was so impressive in the Muggy today, that this new truggy idea is on hold for the mome... The price of the ST-1 would win me over though I think....

RE: Looking for some Advice..
Im eyeballibg the LRP as well. This OS30 seems to be losing compression. Its too hot to try to turn it over right after a run to see what its like but I need to find a way.
