Brushless CEN E-Matrix TR FRE
hey guys,
i FINALLY got it brushless!!! here are the changes i made and some pics of the final build! made another motor mount out of some TI-AL alloy for the added strength and rigitity. Mamba Max ESC with Y harness Feigao 8XL motor heatsink made out of a computer heatsink custom aluminum battery mount i think thats it, if you see something you have a question about please ask as i may have forgot some things. here are the pics: http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/7...trix014zv8.jpg http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/9...trix002ta7.jpg http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/8...trix006rj3.jpg http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/6623/ematrix010qd4.jpg http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/3...trix012zv1.jpg http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/5...trix020kg4.jpg http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/3...trix021qj4.jpg http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/9...trix025ku5.jpg http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/5...trix029jp0.jpg http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/1...trix031nz3.jpg please tell me what you think or the final build. thanks, Aaron |
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
Looks cool but I think it would be a little top heavy due to where the batteries are mounted.
|
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
I am of the thought that brushless will displace nitro to a large degree over the next couple of years. Your ingenuity is to commended.
How does run? More bottom and top end? |
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
How well does it brake? Can you correct in the air over jumps? Also where did you get the pinion? What amps are the battery packs? What is the run time? A good brushless site is RC-Monster.com.. Is that the stock center diff? Again very impressive for a scratch built conversion.
|
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
Yeah, I also think that it would act a bit top heavy due to the way the batteries are mounted. Maybe you should place them in a new place on the chassis?

vnmsgt:
thanks, acually it isn't at all. being that its a truggy, it has a really wide track therefore it doesn't matter a whole lot. and it also handles GREAT even with the packs up there. thopper: it has massive braking power being that the motor is made for torque. i'm sure you could air correct, again because the brakes are so good. the pinion is a Mod 1 pinion from RCMonster. as for top and bottom end, it has MASSIVE lowend. like huge torque. the batterys are normal 3300s donno the amperage on them. yes that is the stock center diff. thanks :) chrobar: as i told vnmsgt, no there not too high. doesn't effect the handling at all. and no, i tryed and there really isn't another place to put them. atleast with even weight distribution. thanks for the questions guys, Aaron |
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
NITRO IS BETTER
|
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
ORIGINAL: losi8tboy NITRO IS BETTER if your going to come on to somebodys thread and bash the things he has in that thread. i dont see a need for you to post in this thread. thanks guys, and i hope there are less of the people that bash it then the people that appreciate it. Aaron |
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
Nice. I like the motor mount. Simple, but it looks very stable. I too would have found a better place (on the chassis) for the batteries, but it works and you like it, so that's all that matters. I just finished an MBX5T and tested it yesterday. It works good too!
losi8tboy - Statements like that make you look...not smart. |
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
i think ya did good!:D i wonder if a lipo would fit where the tank was?
|
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
i would try a lipo or take the battery apart and re solder it to fit were the gas tank was
|
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
thanks guys, ya i was really thinking of putting a lipo or stack or batterys there. i just didn't want the battery (whatever it is) so slide into the spur and pinion. so that would mean i would have to put some kind of mount between the battery and gears.
that would be about the only place on the chassis to mount them. but it acually is working out quite well. :) i really would like a lipo for it, its just not in the budget at the moment. :) thanks for the comments guys, Aaron |
RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
Hi, I love those heat sinks on the motor. Here is a picture of my CEN truggy conversion. I have the batteries sitting on the chassis, at first I used an old E-Maxx chassis and cut out the battery trays to make holders, then I made my own out of some fiberglass angles. I used a velcro strap to hold them down and it is very secure, the battery does not move (because of the tray) and does not fly out (because of the strap). Since your a Revo freak I also have a picture of my converted Revo. Great job on your conversion.

RE: Brushless CEN Matrix TR FRE
very nice conversion man,
what motor is that in the CEN? ... wow you really switched a lot around on that chassis, looks like you moved the RX box to the other side and up front? and cut the brake servo mounts out? i was thinking of doing the same, however i was possibly wanting to use a brake servo for brakes, just because the brakes are really abrupt through the mamba. again nice conversion. BTW, i'm not a revo freak anymore. :P i was when i started but i dont like them anymore. :) however that is also a nice conversion. thanks, Aaron |
RE: Brushless CEN E-Matrix TR FRE
thanks, to all the people that commented.
i would love to see some of your builds. :) thanks, Aaron |

aww come on guys, BUMP?

RE: Brushless CEN E-Matrix TR FRE
wow guys, thats awesome. almost makes me wann save up some loot for the convert. what is needed again? esc, motor, motor mount and batteries with holder? then theres chargers and dischargers... man i got a hyper 7 on its last nitro leg sitting here...hmmm.....

RE: Brushless CEN E-Matrix TR FRE
ORIGINAL: revofreak wow, that is an amazing build. how do you like the lipo? is it a 4s? i am planning on going lipo soon also. how does it run? great build, thanks for sharing it. :) This is an Enerland 4s 5000mah LiPo. The Enerland cells are awesome, but not the standard size. They are a bit longer. It runs fantastic. Like any well set up MBX5T, it handles like it's on rails. Add the superior acceleration and power of the Neu motor and you have one formidable race beast. Hey j_blaze (and others), check out this site: [link]http://www.rcproductdesigns.com/[/link] He makes a conversion kit for the Hyper 7 and several other buggies. The H7 kit uses battery trays that are molded right into the splash guard. Very cool. He is backed up with orders, but if you tell him "CJ" sent you, you might get bumped up on his to-do list....Maybe. |
