[&o] So I am the only one. Lol.

RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
You are the only one I know that has a Nitrage. Tamiya makes cool nitro stuff but it doesn't make it big here in the US. My biggest complaint with Tamiya nitros is lack of parts availability and price.
Interesting thing about the Nitrage is it does have a flat chassis, but then it has an actual transmission too. I wonder what class it would run in? MT or Truggy? It seems to transcend both genres. |
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
ORIGINAL: Dale Gribble I wonder what class it would run in? MT or Truggy? It seems to transcend both genres. so we race it in the Truggy class. Very stable gotta say that. But mines runing on parts from everywhere lol, because here we dont really have a local hobby shop, we just use whatever we can find, got hpi parts, kyosho... But yeah here i might be the only one, at the track, I kid you not, atleast 12 other people have it. |
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
Bump,
Heres the thread you were actually looking for Joel. |
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
I was reading thru the manual and was wondering what weight of diff oil i should use at the centre, front and back......
Any suggestions? Im going to use Tamiya's diff oil...and this will probably be mostly on road |
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
Probably 22 - 10 - 12
More power to the back, better for onroad slides...? |
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
The heaviest oil you want in the centre then next heaviest in the front, lightest in the back...if the oil in the centre is too light too much power will transfer to the front (way too much ballooning and a sort of FWD effect) , and the same principle goes for the front diff...too light and the inside tire will get transfered too much power...go at least 20-30 centre IMO...say 5 - 20 - 10 or 10 - 30 - 20 something like that...;)
|
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
so the idea is the lighter the oil at one side, the more power is transferred to that side?
|
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread

RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
I saw a like new Nitrage go for $200 on eBay this weekend. I was tempted, but I go back to the parts availability issue. Maybe I should have bought it anyways.

RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
It holds up really well, go check out my other thread "I Finally Killed It" (All Pink And Fixed :D) Changed the name.
Rammed it into a bench at full throttle. Nothing really broke except a shock end. |
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
ORIGINAL: nauticar so the idea is the lighter the oil at one side, the more power is transferred to that side? |

RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
I really got it quite muddy today.
http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/d5adc5dc.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/de8f2302.jpg But they;re right about the JP Hardcoated exhaust, sooo easy to clean, and looks great. All I had to do was wait for the mud to harden up, and break it loose with my finger. Then gave it a nice heavy coat of WD 40, did the ARO procedure, and I was done :D Have to clean out my air filter, got A LOT of WD 40 in there. |
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
@ RC
They're the normal ones The look huge because they were balloning. I think I may have messed up with the diff fluid a lot And cooked the front diff while I was at it. All my front tyres did was keep spinning & balloning Also popped it off the ground a few times... http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/549fc621.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/6f3a0f8c.jpg |
RE: Tamiya Nitrage 5.2, The Offical Thread
