2 Choices, Which one.?

Hey Guys.

Theres a new hobby store opened up here.

They have fablous deals, dropped by today.

And for the price of an OS Vspec .30 VG, I can get a new truck.

This is what I can afford at the moment.

Kyosho ST US Sports Truggy

Hoa Bao Hyper ST (I have no idea what this one is, but it looked good)

With the Kyosho ST, ill get a radio system + servos.

With the Hoa Bao ST, I have to supply my own radio + servos (No problem, have them).

Which would be the best bang for my buck.

OR

Should I hold out a few more weeks and get an ST - R or a TT ST1 Pro..

Thanks

...qaiz...

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

Just to add.

The price diff. between the .30 VG and the trucks are around $100. Can raise it no problem...

The diff. between the Kyosho Ready Set and the ST are around $30.

Both are brand new.

I can only afford the Hoa Bao without the radio and servos. He agreed to knock $100 off the price if I dont buy it with the radio + servos...

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

30 VG sucks badly...... terrible Truggy motor.... lots of bottom end, but doesnt even rev high enough to consider to evenhave a top end...stay far far away from this pile of Camel Dung engine...... OS 28 ZX is a whole different animal...

Heres his number

050 - 4597519

Check with them, they have a lot and I mean a lot of parts..

They probably would have a roto start....

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

@ supertib

No wonder its cheap lol...

But im really looking for a lotta low end torque.

.28 is really outta my budget

I can afford it @ the moment if I buy it from a shop called hobby center, but they offer no warranty.

In this new one I found, they offer a 1 year warranty with all engines except Nova's.

Theyre more expensive, but id' rather have peace of mind knowing that if something goes wrong, they will sort it out...

Im really debating, they're sale is on only till Friday, so if I decide to go for a new Truck, ill have to get it by then.

I really wanted a kit tho, wont be able to afford a decent one for a coupla more weeks tho......

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

I'd say go with either the hyper ST or the TT ST1 pro.

qaiz 01-22-2008 09:58 AM

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

See the thing is, Hyper ST, I can pick it up tomorrow.

TT ST1 Pro, is 3 - 4 weeks away.

I think ill just get a kit, ive wanted one for a while now...

Probably if I save up more by then ill get a Mugen kit, they carry it, but theyre quite expensive.

I just got off the phone with the guy, they have the Hyper ST Pro coming in a month, is that worth waiting for.

Engine im not worried, bro will be back here on Friday, ill take his Speed V - Spec.

Radio + Servos, Jr Xs3 + 2 JR ES579 @ 9.3 KG/CM.

Pipe, he probably would have something lying around, or ill just order an OS tuned pipe or another JP (IF I have enough Money).

So now the question is should I get the Hyper ST or the Hyper ST Pro.

A coupla of my friends told me to stay away from the Kyosho Us Sports...

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

HYper ST in itself is a better truggy then the TTR ST-1..... Its a newere better handling design, already with more track acomplishments over the ST-1.....I think the ST-1 is a nice machine, but its definitely not truly competitive as the Hyper ST is...Dude to the low cost the TTR ST-1has a very strong fan base of firt time Truggy owners on this forum..... But quite honestly IMO the Hyper ST is overall a much better bet

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

I really liked the look of it.

Im doing some checking up on the Pro version.

The cost inbetween them is not tooo much.

Because any truck I get next, im gonna rip out the reciever and transmitter, servos, and engine.

So IMO its much more sence to get a Kit version rather than a RTR.

Plus the main main reason is that I want to try my hand at building a kit.

I helped my bro out on his Baja, and loved it. Now I kinda want something to do myself lol.

and dude seriously dont mess around...buy the Hyper ST Pro and dont look back...dont let any of these guys tell you any differently..the Hyper ST Pro is a better bet then the ST-1 Pro or RTR.... Sometimes there is more to the picture then lowest price..... The ST-1 is still excelent, but the Hyper is better and more advanced....

Sold, 3 hours reading through the ST Pro thread.

Called the guy and said he'll order one for me.

Lets see how it goes now.

He also said something about a .28 Turbo Engine, will cost a lil bit more, but if im going buying one, I rather buy the entire package.

Also it dosent come with wheels.!!!!???

He was asking me what kind of wheels I would want.!?

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

Lol my dad is going to kill me when I walk in the house with a new truggy in a coupla weeks.

Hopefully id' saved enough of money by then.

Just in the morning he said.

Forget about everything and stop spending all your money on your Truck, focus on your University and School right now.

I dont have the round thingys to tell him that Im on the verge of getting a new truck lol.!

Thank God this time I do not have to pay for shipping.!!!!!!

Ill buy wheels once I get that thing built up and running, whenever that happens lol.

Should keep me occupied for a few months :)

Do not buy the Hyper engine..its ****ing junk !!!!!!!!!!!! honest to god do not buy any engine till you ask me.LOL i am serious, i will save you alot of time and money... there is soo many junky engines on the market, the Hyper Mach 28 that comes withthe Hyper ST is the worst of the worst

qaiz 01-22-2008 12:07 PM

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

Lol, they're closed now, I still have till Sunday to decide what engine I have.

Ill dump my bros Speed Vspec and be done with it lol.

Yeah ive seen you give a lotta advice on engine, thanks..

I really want the .28 XZ but cant afford it if I get a truck.

I thought that engine would be good because it said turbo lol. :D

Im kinda a sucker for these things :D

First time I read your post I thought you were calling the Hyper a peice of junk lol.

Thanks

@ spikeitaudi

Thanks for the info, idiots dont even know what they're selling lol.

Now final decision has to be made, I gathered up my guts and told my dad. He said alright.

He asked me to wait for a few more days till my bro gets back and ask him lol. That means I can get it.

Lets see now, I think even hes gonna pick up a new truck. Gotta wait and see which one he gets, probably a Mugen...

My mom said she'll pay 50% of it :D. But I cant order it online.

Im comparing costs right now, howmuch it costs here, and howmuch it costs from a main + shipped.

Could always give a friend the cash and ask him to order it, not worried.

Ive already placed an order (well what I mean by that they have them coming lol), and when it gets here, it gets here.

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

Dear Mr. Qais Al Khan

Thank you for your intrest in the Ho Bao ST Pro Kit.

We have reviewed your application and regret to inform you that the original costing ( DHS 4850 ) has been changed to ( DHS 6650 ).
Due to certian importing and reselling regulations enforced in the UAE, we are no longer to distribute it at that price. Also delievry times have been increased to 10 - 12 weeks.
As you may know the Kit version does not include engine, servos, radio and transmitter and exhaust.
We also have the 'RTR' Version avaliable at the nominal cost of DHS 4750. Which includes servos, radio and transmitter, and engine.

But we are glad to inform you that we may be able to offer you a discount on the Kyosho ST US Sports to DHS 4500. Also we may be able to offer you a HPI Savage XSS with engine, and a Novarossi 528XR and with a Spektrum DX3 Ratio for DHS 5000.
We look forward to a promt response from you.

Thank You

Ahmed Al Sheba
General Manager

Just got this email.

WHTT.!

If I wanted a damn savage, I would have gotten one in the first place. And correct me if im wrong, the 528 is a buggy engine.!

LUCKILY I could be afford that in 10 - 12 weeks.

Still go for it.?

The price has gone up Due to "importing regulations" by around $400.

Nominal cost my as.

RE: 2 Choices, Which one.?

I forwarded a copy to my dads work email lol.

Let him read it when hes in the office, otherwise he'll rip my head off now.

I have my heart set on a Kit, any damn kit lol.

But I really liked the look of this one.

I replied back.

Ahmed, fine I agree with the price, but next time please let me know in advance so I can check if I have the money ready or not.

Fine keep the booking, but I will let you know, I might buy the RTR version.

Is there nothing that can be done about the price, it has gone up quite a bit.

7hallas lets see.

But definately I am not intrested in a Savage or Kyosho ST Us Sports. If you could get me a ST - R or ST - RR, please let me know.
I am not in the market for an RTR, I want a kit.

Let me know what you have.

Thanks.
