pinks slip
i have eight t with the 427 big block
i have a friend with a brand new revo 3.3 we are racing for pinks, do i have a better chance of winning |
RE: pinks slip
Depends whos the better driver...and its "Pink Slips" not "Pinks Slip" lol!! ;)
|
RE: pinks slip
I bet he'll break something before you. :P
|
RE: pinks slip
Depends completely on the style of race and the quality of the driver.
Long track race - Losi should win, but if Revo's good, he may be able to make less fuel stops than you. Short track race - Losi easily, as long as Losi can drive. Short drag race - Losi just about. Long drag race - Revo will smash you. It's not a risk I would take in your position, especially if it's a drag race. He has the top speed on you, and by quite a lot. You have the cornering. You have a lot more to lose. Don't bother. By the way, this would be one of those situations where tuning your engine for absolute maximum performance may be beneficial. Look at it this way, if it gives you the extra speed you need to win, then you have another truck, and who cares if that engine loses a gallon of it's life. If you blow up the engine, he wins a car with a blown engine.;) |
RE: pinks slip
if it was on a track id put my money on the losi unless you can't drive,
drag race, revo will win |
RE: pinks slip
The 8ight t with teh 427 is pretty fast but the revo has a second speed that will over take you in the long run. You should easily be able to beat the revo on the track adn in short drag.
|
RE: pinks slip
every ones saying a a revo will beat a 8ight t with a losi 427 in a drag race, I don't think so. I've dragged my maxx (which has 2-speeds) against a lx comp that is stock (with the stock 26) and the maxx couldn't pull away even after it hit 2nd gear, actually I think the comp beat my maxx in a 100foot maybe a 150foot drag.
a stock 3.3 dose not have much power to push a revo to hi speeds, and the 3.3 dose not rev high either, I think the 427 might rev higher than the 3.3 dose, I've seen a revo 3.3 do some high speed run and I've seen a CRT do high speed runs with a v-spec in it, and from what I've seen that CRT with the v-spec would beat that 3.3 revo. |
RE: pinks slip
A v-spec and a 16t cb would be a whole other matter. ;) We don't have enough info to make a decision here, both cars are fast enough that one mistake on the start line, and it's all over.

RE: pinks slip
The mach 427 on the 8igh-t has the larger carb. i heard with the 15T bell top speed is 50mph. Revo is not that fast...

RE: pinks slip
the 427 that comes in the 8ight and 8ight T rtr's is known as the losi 427 since it only comes in the losi 8ight's but the mach 427 you can buy (the orange head) is not the same. well, has anyone even compared a mach 427 with the losi 427? the crab looks the same, I think the mach and losi 427 probably is the same engine just different color, but the sportwerks 26V2 has a different carb and I know that ones bigger.
I have a mach 427, dose anyone on here have a losi 427 and a SW26 V2 so we can compare them? |
RE: pinks slip
Well I'd say it would probably just be like any motor sport..The person with the money and the most dumped into there car usually wins..thats about 10%..90% driving skills :)
|
RE: pinks slip
I say go for it! Live on the edge!:D
|
RE: pinks slip
rcs don't have pink slips.. so giver you got nothin to lose.
|
RE: pinks slip
Ya you will have to hand over the receipt instead

RE: pinks slip
so I guess losi bored the carb out a little.
|
RE: pinks slip
The increased the carb from 7mm to 8.5mm, decreased the deck height and reshaped the combustion chamber of the head button.
|
RE: pinks slip
shed weight where you can also I think take the wing off and the mount if drag racing because it will be downforce on the car and it will slow it down, run a very high % of nitro run a taller tire patch up the cooling hole (gas tank hole infront of body) run the buggy lower to the ground, run less castor oil and lean it out some, and check over your lane thoroughly, oh also run less fuel in the tank maybe get the buggy warmed up first then maybe fill it up 1/4 full

RE: pinks slip
yup my revo won

RE: pinks slip
What I thought you had the losi?
