RE: motor help
why did you only show .21 engines? why not a .28? how about a modded .28 picco or an lrp...
|
RE: motor help
i am looking for eather a .26 or a 28
what is every ones sugestions |
RE: motor help
Sorry, force of habit.....
Lots of choices in the larger range of engines, as well. I really liked the OS .28XZ when I had it. It was a fuel hog in my hands, but it had the POWER....... |
RE: motor help
ya i was looking at the lrp .28
|
RE: motor help
i here very good things about the lrps. but i bet one of tibs picco's would really make that hustle.........
|
RE: motor help
PICCO P-3 or MACH 427 are my personal favorites ;) what price range?or $$$ is no object?
|
RE: motor help
LRP is a great all-round, safe choice. The LRP is basically just a bigger Mach 427. Characteristics are very similar - easy to break in and tune - just more torque(and unfortunately, more fuel consumption..) The Losi 454 is the same thing btw - and can prob be had cheap on e-bay. It's the stock engine on the Losi 8T 2.0 RTR.

RE: motor help
i was thinking about putting a different carb from another .28 that has changable venturis do you think that will work ?
how good is the jammin .28jpx |
RE: motor help
What carb,on what engine?
|
RE: motor help
its off of a mach .28 and i would try to put it on the lrp
|
RE: motor help
Rossi .28 > OS .28XZ > Jammin JPX .28 (Picco .28) > LRP .28 > Losi 454 > Axial .28 RR
is the general concensus. Hope this helps. I run the Jammin JPX .28 (Exact same as Picco .28 but with a turbo head red in color). Amazing engine. Best bang per buck. 2nd choice would be the LRP. I love the OS .28 but it's pretty pricey. Eganwp |
RE: motor help
I'd put the OS at the top of that list...
|
RE: motor help
i was also looking at that axial .28rr but i havent heard anything about it so i dont know
|
RE: motor help
Skip the Axial RR. I had it, it was a total PIA for the first gallon and a half, then ran actually quite well for five gallons or so in my Savage, then I sold it.. I think the engine had potential, but it's hit and miss.
The LRP Spec 3 is pretty much a spot-on, no worries hit. More reliable, AND more powerful than the Axial.. Trust me.. |
RE: motor help
ya i have were i can get one used for 100 bucks i think im goin to get it im thinkin about if im goin to have to get a piston and sleve
|
RE: motor help
if you buy a piston & sleeve you will have spent more on a used engine w/old breaeings than the price of a new one,see where I'm going with this [sm=wink_smile.gif]
|
RE: motor help
Really, makes no sense to buy a used LRP for 100 bucks. Get a new Losi 454 on e-bay or LRP from wherever for 150 shipped....
Unless you really, REALLY know the seller, and you're talking less than a gallon... |
RE: motor help
if its a uses one i still would be in the same boat
plus i wouldnt have to pay for shiping and handeling because its at my local hobby shop |
RE: motor help
No,what HerrSavage & I are trying to tell you is.you could buy a NEW engine
|
RE: motor help
